Not a ton to say here. I just feel blessed I got to make it into the middle of the cut running Smoke at my last official FFG tournament for this game. Had to drop out of the cut, though. Had stuff to take care of. It's a Smoke list! Pretty straightforward. Turns out Paragon is real good when you also have Net Mercur. Who knew?
I resisted ProCon for the longest time in this deck, but hot damn is it a lot of money for the game. You need it. so much expensive to install.
Paragon! - OMG Paragon is great. clicking for 2 credits on non-ice servers when Mercur is out is great. The draw filter is hella great. I avoided a large number of wasted time that way. This thing basically saves you a click every time you bury something. Love it.
Blackstone?? - Great for stacked barriers, fine on small barriers, same to install as Paperclip and no influence. Didn't miss Paperclip at all. This did just fine and I love me the econ cards (Paragon, Career Fair, PioT) I can get with that inf.
3x PioT?? - It's hella money! Another way to burst after getting your junk out. Could potentially get a second Stimhack instead of 3 of these, but meh. Don't really care how much money the Corp has if you also have a ton, much of the time.
No Beth!? Cardslots too tight! The Ghost Runner could be a Beth, probably. Sometimes you need the extra stealth creds vs. Surveyor decks, though.
Employee Strike vs. Film Critic? - Total meta call. It's 50/50 with the decks running around now, which is what really makes Smoke extra tough these days, I think. It was 50/50 in the decks I faced on the day, too. Ultimately I think Employee Strike is better for the Mti and CTM matchups, and still helps in the PU matchup.
What do you do if you play vs. Skorp? - Cry and hope you get lucky.
Not much crazy to report.
Started off vs. a Skoprios that I was able to get to 5 on, but they rushed out too fast for me to make it to the last agenda. :/ Got swept here.
Vs. CTM: Employee Strike does work. Econ holds up vs. HHN.
Vs. PU with Mushin: Hey! My worst possible matchup!? I #YOLO run the first Mushin and get lucky hitting an Obokata with a garbage hand, so I steal it. Dude finds all 3 Kakugo pretty early, sticks 2 on R&D. I am sad. Get an Indexing off and manage to steal a House of Knives. I leave a TFP on the bottom (leaving the chancier steal for later), hoping to stall a turn and get it after. He Genotypings to shuffle. Bummer. I should have just stalled here and clicked for credits, waiting for him to make a move (I just about ran out of credits as it was), but I was impatient, greedy, and not in the right headspace so I played recklessly for a few single accesses and whiffed. Eventually killed myself running an old Mushin'd Cerebral Overwriter to check for Ronins.
Vs. Asa Group: They left their R&D open on turn 1, so I Indexing'd and stole an Ikawah. Got an SSL out of the hand a couple of turns later, and then it was basically over. Got another agenda to win the game not too long after.
Vs. Sportsmetal: Not much to say here. This list had Domestic Sleepers and Meridians in it, so I knew to expect Giordano, which would have been atrocious. Lucky for me, they never found it. I had enough econ to essentially remote lock them. Stole a few from the remote, stole some from the R&D, stole one from HQ.
's it.

Also, I feel if you are gonna investment that heavily in Peace (which is a card I have gone on record as really not liking, but I know it can win games), you NEED Beth to leverage that money the corp has. |
Been playing with a similar deck, Paragon is the shit in Smoke. I would drop something (maybe Peace?) for Oracle May. It combos perfectly with Paragon, puts in so much work.
