New! Mooncore 2 (Styx Style) 3rd @ APAC

Frogs backlog #2, twinpeakskylemaclachlanWhatYearIsThis.jpeg Styx is really good at Netrunner, y'all.

"Hey, the numbers are clearly wrong, this should be 3x. What is this doing?" No. SHhhh, it's okay. Trust me.

Okay, we diverged on one crucial thing, Styx went 2/2/2 on RLC, Greasing, and Tranquility and I truly think that 3 RLC is essential, but I admittedly never got around to trying his version, but I would probably make space elsewhere to expand the econ package.

I have another variant of this to publish, so I'm going to leave the technical talk of the deck at that. Instead, I'm going to take this time to mostly gush about my teammates again.

Mooncore is a deck that I actually built a year and a half ago, in the very early days of QtM, because, you know, the core damage package had just come out and I decided it was on me to make Sportsmetal harder to play for the pilot, and less fun for the runner, while just sort of retaining a similar level of performance (this version is better though). Hooray! Fun! You can look that up if you want.

Anyway, fast forward to this summer and an anonymous snail resurrects the thread to mention that it might be good again. What? No, surely not (it couldn't hold up in the mulch meta). It was pretty good before, but am I really going to spend time reworking this? Yes. Brainworm reacquired. I'm so, so happy that it did this because the newly updated list that I arrived at began quickly exceeding expectations while being the most fun I'd had corping in a long time Thank you for always nudging me in good directions for deck building.

I want to really express how grateful I am for Styx though, who was brave enough to take this to continentals and nearly took the event with it. I was asleep for most of APAC happening, so just got wake up to the hype of my teammate and deck making the cut. I was sort of going through it at the time and pretty down on myself and stuff that I had worked on at the time so it was really very energizing!

To that as well, I'd really like to express my appreciation for Styx because not only is he an amazing Netrunner player who threatened a clean sweep of Continentals for QtM (next time), he also is incredibly sweet and supportive. Even though we have probably the most inconvenient relative timezones, he has gone out of his way to be supportive of me both when I have been having very hard times and very joyful ones and really made me feel appreciated for my contributions to the team, Netrunner-related or otherwise. It has meant a whole lot to me over the the past few months especially and I'm excited to hug him in San Francisco. Again, I am so fortunate to have such wonderful teammates.

Okay, I could keep embarrassing folks but I'll leave it there for now. Haha wow, got two corp decks actually published. Maybe a runner soon. Is Freedom good?

I've been trying to pilot this because it looks so cool, but I think I am bad at it. How often are we jamming and scoring behind ice? should i turtle until i find the combo or just spam things on the table? Teach me your ways oh wise one <3

The one thing holding me back at APAC was clearly playing a runner that was far too normal, frog decks just hit different. Looking forward to giving you a big hug at Worlds <3

@GameOfDroidsI have a more technical writeup coming to accompany the specific list that I took to top cut at both US EC Nats and Cascadia. I actually had it mostly written up two days ago but made the amateur mistake of typing it directly into the NRDB notes and lost the whole thing, so I'll have to re-do that later in the week probably.

@MrStyxhugs are inevitable. they cannot be stopped.
