Pre-rotation decklist |
I got picked IG for a random ID charity event and so a GNK was a perfect place to initially test my ideas as well as a chance to get some more games in after finishing a disappointing last in the regionals. And as it happens it took (cough carried cough) me to my first GNK victory!
There is nothing fancy here I just put cards that I thought would work best in a deck and I managed to create another, 'just another IG54' deck. The main workhorse card is Genetics Pavilion it is just so good, once you have a couple of your Hostile Infrastructure rezzed and you're threatening one or more Bio-Ethics Associations the runner can't make any good choices, only less bad ones. The deck is currently rotation proofed (as the event I'm taking it to is, I am assuming, happening after rotation will have happened) thanks to Crimson Dusts Breached Dome.
So the games.
Game one vs. Leela. An early Pavillion stops his draw and I start to load up Domes in Archives. He makes a mistake early on and ends up with no cards in hand, a Bio-Ethics gives me the win.
Game two run draw.
Game three run win.
Game four vs. Noise. My opponent is packing a semi Noise solitaire deck another early pavilion keeps the pressure on and he can't install viruses quick enough to bother me he is on 5 agenda points with two Shi.Kyū taking him down to 3 and he tries a desperate run into R&D hitting a Dome.
Game five vs MaxX. Hats off to my opponent, he could choose which side to play (we we're doing single sides against each opponent) and plumbed for IG over Khan. A turn one pavilion keeps the MaxX speed in check and my first Bio-Ethics earns it's rez cost sniping some recursion away. I get two Hostiles on Breaker Bays and then everything settles down. My opponent is locked by the Hostiles & Bio-Ethics so has to settle for checking R&D/HQ and checking my unrezzed cards. He ends up running a Psychic Field and he loses his hand, at this point the game is sealed but he makes it final by planting into a Snare!.

The hedge funds have not done any real work in this deck (think I played one once). A couple of my friends have suggested Diversified Portfolio as an alternate econ card, weaker at the start but once you hit 5+ servers it starts to shine. More draw would be good just not sure what I would take out and which draw would work well. |
I'm curious how the economy felt for you. With only turtlebacks and hedge funds, I was skeptical, but I noticed the only thing you really need the breaker bay grids for are the HIs. Rezzing a DNA Tracker or even triggering a snare sounds pricey for what you've got. AND you have no draw engine. But a 1st place finish suggests it all works out pretty well, so I wonder if it's just tight or if it runs cheap.
