This is the Tennin Deck I brought to my first tournament the Spanish National 2015.
It managed to go 4-1 in Swiss which brought me to 4th place after the cut for top 8. It won against Stealth Kit, Keyhole Max, Bagbiter Faust Chaos Theory and Siphon Whizzard. The loss in Swiss was against an other Siphon Whizzard.
In the top 8 it went 0-2 vs the only two criminals. The Winner of the Nationals playing Ken Tenma and a standard Andromeda in the losers bracket.
My runner was a slightly modified Valtman Valencia that also went 4-1 in Swiss.
This deck is a modified version of the "No Siphons Please" Tennin Deck and that was really the name of the game. As mentioned above all three losses were against decks with Account Siphon where I couldn't find my Crisium Grid fast enough.
In general the strategy is assess the runner. If the runner is stronger in the long run try to score a Nisei MK II behind an ETR ice. If they are a early game deck ice up the 3 main servers and gather advancement tokens for Trick of Light. Many runners will waste a Click and money to prevent the advancement. Only build one remote server and install an unadvanced Agenda with a Caprice Nisei.
On average I got 6-7 triggers of Tennins ability.
Short Overview to the card changes: I was expecting lots of Anarch and Shaper and modified my deck against them.
Lotus Field & Swordsman against Anarch, Faust Noise
Braintrust & Genetic Resequencing to be scored out of hand with a Trick of Light

I play a deck very similar to this (also a build off of No Siphons Please), and would like to highly recommend Tyrant to you (i include it as a 2-of). When you get done giggling, give it a try! Tyrant's weakness has always been that it's useless the first time you rez it, making it a 7-cost paperweight that does nothing when it's facechecked. But Tennin lets you cheat around this drawback. Tyrant with a counter on it when rezzed is suddenly a very playable card, and once it's up you can pump it as much as you need to. It becomes one of the best taxing ice I've ever used. |

I certainly wouldn't recommend it INSTEAD of Ice Wall, but I like it in my heavy tax slot (replaced Ashigaru, which I found super inconsistant). I tried Spiderweb for a while and it's great, especially for burning those Lady counters, but the meta is so Parasite-heavy that it never stayed on the board. Anyway, glad to hear you tried it! |
Nice deck, hard player!! congrats Chris!!!!
