I love the card.
And hate that everyone is talking about Snare! interaction so much. It's fun but not strong in the slightest (unless it kills).
Minuses:
- easy to trash
- absurdly expensive to setup - cost of advancing is least 2 creds in most situations (1 you pay and 1 you could gain if you chose to gain creds instead of this action), sometimes more if you have valuable actions to do, sometimes less with Mushin or other cards that make it cheaper
- runner can trash it when set up, so you cant wait for the combo pieces even if its setup
- you need to put stuff back into archives, it might be usefull for well timed shock, but usually its, a huge downside
Pluses:
- triggered ability timing <- this is the key thing here
- you can play an operation, use this than play it again; without any extra clicks
there is quite a difference between 1,2 and 3 EMP hits,
not mentioning Sea -> 1SE and Sea / Snare! -> 2SE (with one SE in deck) - you can use this during a run, in many situations without giving runner much time to respond,
snares are an option (usually a bad option as it's expensive, unless it kills),
but so is:- putting shock/cyberdex into archives
-hiding agendas in HQ and swapping them to Archives with Howard on table when runner plays legwork,
-getting grail ice from Archives when runner meets your ice,
etc
- putting shock/cyberdex into archives
- you can play an operation, use this than play it again; without any extra clicks
- runnning a setup forces you to use it earlier, but doesn't break it completely
- self recuring trick (ridicolously expensive, but might be usefull sometimes)
- next level of mindgames, currently the worse that can happen from advanced card left alone is Ronin or scored agenda, risking agendas is really risky so most of the time its Ronin, now there is also this guy, and you can rez it when runner Siphons you to 0 so biggest problem with Junebug is at least somewhat mitigated
My recomendation - run it as 1 off. Its not reliable, but it might surprise you and your opponent. When you surprisingly win a game by getting this one more EMP, recur econ card you desparately needed after 4th click siphon, recur your FA tool or cyberdex or caprise you needed at that moment, get right ice that was parasited etc.
