Street Chess

db0 2888

Deck copied from from netrunomicon (http://netrunomicon.com/b003/). Check it out for the detailed deck strategy.

This looked extremely interesting to me, so I'm going to try it out for myself. I publish it for others to easily make modifications on the original.

I believe the most obvious change to be made here is dropping the Opuses and Akamatsu for 3 copies of Armitage - you very rarely need to click MO that often anyway, and this way you completely eliminate the danger of a memory bottleneck.

Personally, I'd also drop the Dailies completely (and use the slots to up the SMC and Interface count, also adding an Escher), as I really don't like the tempo loss the card incurs when used without Aesop's. Then again, I haven't played this enough yet to know if the econ is strong enough to make Dailies work or not.

Other than that, this is a very solid build of the general Scherazade/Deep Red/Pawn combo that we all got excited about once Scherazade came out :D

Oh, and - the guys from Netrunomicon seem to neglect the fact that you don't actually need 2 Pawns to get the combo rolling, one is enough (or did I miss a ruling somewhere along the line)

@PeekaySK - a single Pawn cannot reinstall itself, because of the lack of the word "then" on the card. It gets talked about at length here: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1029626/can-a-pawn-bring-itself-back-from-the-heap

Ah, yes. Thanks, you saved me some searching :)

Am I wrong or is this deck trying to play like Andromeda with a completely different cardpool?

This deck tries to get more "actions" per run. It gets a card and with scherazade it also gets a bit. And to achieve this you need an elaborate combo that doesn´t even work properly when there are multiple pieces of ice.

Andromeda achieves even more per run with less build up time. Even the card draw can be replicated with Masanori. Recently I´ve been very impressed with him mid to late game.

As it stands I`m not impressed.

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

(yes, you're wrong)

@Toobiased, what you mention is not even limited to Andromeda. Anyone can play with Masanori, Desperado and Datasucker. This deck has a completely different playstyle though.

Of course everybody can play with them, but it is what I would define as the current Andy archetype. And I know everybody is bored of her but I always try to compare with the best.

What makes the playstyle so different? that´s what I want to know. My point is, if the card and the additional credit are the only thing you are building this elaborate combo for. Than I don´t think it is worth it. In Andy all cards synergise really well it sometimes doesn´t even feel like a combo deck just because the pieces themselves are good already. Here you don´t have that Deep Red is not great in this deck Scheherazade isn´t great either.

Actually now that I think about it in your version she gets way better (7 targetsoutside of pawn: 3xSMC, 1xImp, 1xDeus Ex, 2xadditional Scheherazade copys).

Still the main argument of the netrunmancer article is, this deck is good because running becomes a Professional Contacts. And I say with Desperado and Datasuckers (+maybe Massanori) running is way better than Professional Contacts its even better than Magnum Opus. Especially since Datasucker counters are worth more than credits when using anarch breakers.

What makes this different is that it just plays different. See some of my videos.
