Gamora's Cloak

DarlingSensei 93

This is a Guardians of the Galaxy themed stealth Andy build. Most people are familiar with stealth Andy, so I'll just go over the evolution and a few of the choices. I will say that it usually only ever lost to NBN ID's. I look forward to the day when Astro is restricted.

History

What I really wanted was a deck that had a good match up against NEH Fastrobiotics. Since that doesn't exist, I went with a new version of an ID I was comfortable playing. The stealth package leaves very little in the way of influence and deck slots. I believe that the correct amount of stealth support is 3 cloak (from which the deck takes its name), 3 silencer, and 2 ghost runner.

Events

After must-have economy like sure gamble and dirty laundry, and account siphon, there's not much room for extra events. The three slots that I feel are flexible here are the 2 inside jobs and the hostage. I found the hostage to be useful to get me the correct connection resource when I needed it. It can sometimes be a dead draw, but with Mr. Li you can usually banish it to the bottom. Inside job is the most generally useful trick you can play. It works on any deck and almost always causes the corp some grief.

Hardware

Nothing fancy here aside from the fact that I would really like to find room for a 2nd plascrete. Blue sun is very deadly right now and that card is essential in that match up.

Resources

Three security testing is a must and I have never cut one. I went with one of each connection to save on tight deck space and support the hostage plan. Limited connection cards means you must be very careful when handling tags. John Masanori in particular tends to be either REALLY good or REALLY bad. I'm hesitant to install him in glacier match ups. Mr. Li is amazing in a stealth deck where you need certain cards very quickly but also need to dispose of redundant copies. Kati is just an outstanding card. I've had corps SEA source simply to kill her.

I went back and forth on Utopia Shard. I feel as though it's very strong but I still haven't found exactly the right way to play it. Once example is with legwork. Do you fire it first in order to Legwork more cards, or do you fire it second so as to trash or steal anything you can with the legwork access? Please discuss.

Icebreakers

I shaved these down as much as possible on both influence and deck slots. Breach helped me to both save influence on the 2nd corroder and beat cheeky Blue Sun players who think criminals can't break their naked OAIed curtain walls. I'm still uncertain as to the correct configuration of killers. Many early stealth decks skipped refractor because it overtaxes the stealth rig. There are times when it can, but if you are careful it's not a problem. I found Next bronze to be especially troublesome for this reason.

Match Ups:

NEH

This match up is no fun at all. You are in a good position with John and security testing for the long game, but they rarely let you get that far. The usual advice here. Trash SanSan and daily BS aggressively and leave pad and marked unless you can really keep them poor. Watch out for a SanSan rez on your siphon run to ruin your day.

RP

This is by far your best match up. Breaking pups for zero and gaining rather than losing money for running centrals is excellent. Be aware that most players will start stacking sentries once they see switchblade, so be prepared.

Blue Sun

You will lean heavily on breach and Kati to keep your economy healthy. Breach will usually see them stacking barriers on a remote. Inside job is they key there. Squeeze in an extra plascrete if you really worry about Blue Sun.

PE

The best way to win here is to pack feedback filter in lieu of utopia shard. Get breakers down ASAP so they don't get netted out. Security testing can be used on those scary triple advanced remotes to make some money. A lesser player will sometimes give tells when you run their triple advanced things. Watch carefully and remind them that you are not accessing.

Apologies for the overlong post. I had a blast playing this deck this season and look forward to when Astro is banned. I rarely lost to anything but Astro BS.
