Floating Wizard 2.0

A tag-me deck I've been rather succesful with.

Notable cards:
Wyldside as a drawing engine
Knight as main breaker
Deep Red as console, all the MU I need, and I can clone chip a Knight mid-run.

I've had 2 decking-wins with it, mostly thanks to installing DLR right after an Account Siphon, and using it for 2 turns, before it's trashed, and a well timed Medium Demolition Run.

Any thoughts?

i like it! would you like to put some pawns to help with knights?

What do you mulligan for?

What's the advantage to using Whizzard over any other Anarch? This doesn't come off as a super heavy trashing deck, so I'm curious.

almost every deck runs 3 jackson howards, that costs 3. nbn is fading, but sansan is also big in hb. plenty of upside to the whizz. I'm down.

Makes sense, I was just wondering if there was anything I was missing in the deck

My first blush is that you don't need deep red. While you can't utilize clonechip, pawn works as recursion, so does deja vu. That click to host isn't worth not being able to host your whole breaker suite and your virus attacks, especially without parasite and sucker. Grimoire would do it, but honestly if you're going to just tough it out on mu, spinal modem kicks ass with knight. You could really the 6 clonechip inf for special orders or diesels...and squeeze in pawn somewhere.

I have been playing a very similar deck, and I'm having a very good win rate with it, so I'd like to ask you about our differences:

  1. Why Wyldside rather than John Masanori? Don't you miss the clicks?
  2. How do you handle big pieces of ICE (like Hadrian's Wall or Janus 1.0) without Emergency Shutdown and/or Parasite?
  3. How often Demolition Run works for you? The little I tried it, I hated it.
  4. Don't you like Vamp?

Thanks for the feedback, everyone,

I mulligan for Knight+AS or Wyldside.

I've not considered using Pawns, but that's a very valid suggestion that I will be trying out.

The advantage of Whizzard is that I don't run enough viruses to use Noise, and found Reina overall kind of "meh" in my initial experiments.

I picked Deep Red over Grimoire, because I'm installing Knight a lot, it's cheaper, and I don't plan on using Medium and Nerve Agent simultaneously. I prefer Medium, but Nerve Agent is a decent backup, especially against HB:CI.

As for Wyldside, I feel it is hugely underrated, which is good for a tag-me resource. John Masanori is always trashed, hardly anyone wonders to trash Wyldside, and I don't really miss the click.

Big ice: the initial plan is to keep the Corp too poor to rez it, if it does happen, I'll click through a Janus when I need to (Brain Damage isn't that bad), and save up for Hadrians and the like.

I Demo Run when I suspect the corp is going to purge next turn, usually with 4/5 virus counters on Medium.

I do like vamp, but found that I'm usually not rich enough to use it properly.
