The Moon Landings were Faked (2nd @ RandomNet #2)

J-Flex 211

For the 2nd RandomNet I was drawn Haarp for my Corp. The usual Haarp builds are kill decks utilizing 24/7 News Cycle. I decided to go for something a little different... Looking at the new NBN agenda Puppet Master that places an advancement counter on a successful run and Award Bait that lets the Corp place advancements when accessed I had an idea for a silly advancement token focused deck incorporating the advanceable space ice from Weyland. I then realised that Puppet Master was in a later pack than our tournament allowed so that had to be ditched and had to rely on other agendas. Palooza is too good in Haarp not to be included but I made a conscious effort to not include Astro and Breaking News.

To support the advanceable ice I've included Builder which is pretty awesome in front of an Ice Wall or Asteroid Belt but that positional play does make it pretty funky.

Midseasons is a strong card in Haarp and it powers the other main strategy which is a non-kill use of numerous tags - that's right, it's also a Shoot the Moon deck! If I'm not able to slow advance the big Weyland ice with Award Bait/Builder/regular clicks, I can always have the runner steal an agenda (Palooza preferably) and then give them a bunch of tags. This then activates the Shooting of the Moon to rez everything, including a cheeky Archer avoiding the forfeit agenda cost and also the terrifying Information Overload and also Kitty! (Quantum Predictive Model) and Market Research.

The deck went 2-2 on the day and unfortunately I didn't do any shooting of the Moon, although some cheeky Kitty scores on runner accesses was cool and hitting the runner with a 10-sub Information Overload was pretty sweet. The game losses were to an aggro Overmind Gabe and a Chakana Noise. The singleton Junebug is in there as I had a spare influence but also potentially to make the runner think twice about running that advanced card - managed to land some net damage but no kill.
