Leela Make Money (4th Place at CT Regionals)

XAlt 137

This deck helped me make it to the Top 8 cut in Connecticut Regionals last weekend, beating a Skorp, a HB Moons, and a Hasty CI along the way. How did I design this masterpiece of a deck? I took the Good Stuff Andy deck that I played in a previous tournament, changed it to Leela and made sure to add in some more ways to get money.

Because money is what it's all about. Just try to win without money. You can't. Without money, your best strategy is to "accidentally" throw a tightly-sleeved Gang Sign at your opponent's eye like a hellfire shuriken. Even that will result in an eyepatched opponent who will look cooler than you and probably intimidate you even more. And you still won't have money anyway!

Key money cards: Temujin (obviously -- and two was enough), Kati (definitely a hero, I'll stick with two forever), Sure Gamble (which I left out of my previous Andy like a bozo and regretted it hard every day of my life since), Career Fair (80-100% off the purchase price of your key resources is better than making money sometimes), and Bloo Moose (another hero -- always getting me plenty of cash by mid game).

Aeneas Informants were a waste of space. I thought they'd be great vs. Moons, with their potential for 2-3 credit runs vs servers all day, and with Gang Sign and those accesses and...yeah, it never happened. I lost twice to HB Moons and the Informants did nothing. I played some. I ran. It just slowed me down, really. Update this deck for the 21st century by -3 Aeneas Informants and +1 Legwork, +1 Inside Job, +1 Special Order. If I had those three cards, I would have felt warm and comfortable instead of cold and alone because of the useless Informants.

Secret Rule: Always play Rumor Mill in Criminal. You catch them sleeping on Jackson overdraws every time.

The strategy with this deck is simple: be Leela. Get money. Run hard. Steal agendas. Bounce ice. Once you have money, draw hard until you get Medium. Run hard some more. Let them score something, because you'll get to bounce stuff anyway. Gang Sign never gets you anything good, but it scares those spineless corp lackeys just enough to let you build up your monies that you love so you can make those Medium runs and Legworks and...

It's Leela. Be like Leela.

(Disclaimer: I made Top 8 also because @d1en's HB Sucks deck did great work for me on the Corp side. https://netrunnerdb.com/en/decklist/44403/hb-sucks-pass-it-on-1st-toronto-regionals-22-07-17- The only time it lost was when I mulliganed a 4 agenda opening hand into a 3 agenda/2 jackson hand, overdrew and then proceeded to bleed agendas to the runner so fast that I was embarrassed on behalf of all Americans for letting d1en down.)
