Driving Miss Daisy (1989) - 40th at Worlds 2017

Highwire 1019

This is another deck which came from a pair of sources of inspiration getting mashed together in my head.

The first was at UK nationals, where I watched Patrick "rotomappliance" Gower use Hyperdrivers in conjunction with Professional Contacts to draw a bunch of cards and credits and thought "Man, that looks fun, I want to do that".

A couple of week later, I was testing my Corp decks for worlds, and played a JNet Hayley player who was overdrawing and discarding the Conspiracy breakers with HyperDriver and ProCo and while the deck was good it felt like the INF was being wasted. I built my own version of it and started to try and figure out the optimal layout of INF and breakers in the list.

By the end of testing, most of Team UK had landed on Hayley, with at least 3 different versions of the list being tested.

This is the alternative version of the Hayley list used by Team UK which myself and Chris "ExtraC" Martin played at Worlds 2017. While many of the cards are duplicated between the lists, this version gives up the Shadow Net/Fan Site package to instead use Hyperdrivers and Tech Writers to take advantage of Hayley's crazy number of triggers to accelerate through the early game set-up phase and establish a position where they are rich, can threaten any remote and threaten Indexing/Turning Wheel multi-access runs to close out the game.

The deck performed very well, but folded to PU which I faced twice in the Swiss. It's hard to argue based on performance that the Shadow Net and Laguna/DediPro/Levy versions might be superior, but this is still a fine Runner deck with a ton of options (and HyperDrivers are really fun).

Can't believe you abandoned #teamgeist in the pursuit of tournament success. Congrats Rich, great showing :)

If it's any consolation, I took Geist to KoS and went 5-0 with him while wearing Ciara's Geist shirt :)

Thanks!

That Jnet player might have been me. I've been playing ProCo/Hyperdriver/Tech writers since (or one of my friends) e rotation. I'm still on Paperclip and I also ran MKUltra for a while.

There are many viable Hayley builds, and one with Hyperdrivers made 2nd, so fight the group think!

I also ran trope, with that and feedback filter you should have a chance against PU if you pace yourself.

Btw, we played each other at UK nats, but then I was on Andy/AgInfusion. I remember your Ai-less Hayley didn't make your life easy:) I didn't make it to worlds though, congrats on a good placement!
