PewPew: Netatoes (5th Swansea Regional)

Drago 401

This started as having a go with New Potatoes from @IAMWALRUS having caught the stream of US Nats. I was feeling a bit burned out on Skorp post Euros, tired of playing CTM and didn't find Jinja HB great.

Looking for a deck that I hoped wouldn't fall over to everyone's favourite Clan Vengeance/Zer0 I thought PewPew may be worth a go. It was okay.

So what changed?

  • more recursion; Distract the Masses is great, totally worth it. Shuffle the recursion cards from hand to R&D against Clan Vengeance if they start to pile up rather than hope get them back.

  • Sadaka; I found Enforcing Loyalty great but too expensive, Sadaka filed that gap nicely.

  • IPO; I disliked NGO being quite so trashable but you pay with fewer installs the runner has to consider

  • Mlinzi; Komainu is great but sometime it is just a blank card, this stays a bit more relevant

  • Ark Lockdown; last minute addition and worked out well but it was a Maxx/Levy heavy event

Would I PewPew again?

Probably. The grind this deck created felt fine in swiss (oddly, I was expecting to hate it) but I don't think had enough game for getting through the cut.

If I keep toying with the list I'd look at putting advance-able cards back in; Project Junebug, Gene Splicer, Cerebral Overwriter - who knows. It just feels like it needs something to force runner engagement when they hold back outside of Shipment from Tennin - a plan that falls over anyway if certain agendas are stolen. I suggest checking out @Algebraic list which won the day for something more along those lines.
