I took DoomRat's Boring Lat Control, No Apoc Here deck, added two DZMZ Optimizers and then promptly lost every single game I played with it.
Is this deck bad? No, I think it's good. Am I a terrible player? It's possible.
The reason I think I went 0 for 5 on the day is that there were no bad players at East Coast Nats. The level of skill in that very hot hot room was extremely high. My expectation after losing the first two rounds (once to Fa, then to Ysengrin) was that I'd get paired down enough that I'd start winning some games. It took a lonnnng time for me to finally win a game - the majority of people in the room were absolute monsters at this game, and even the folks I enjoyed the company at the bottom tables knew the game inside and out.
My corp did much better, which was a card for card copy of Bost Ob by Team Muntal Bost / maninthemoon. I went 3-2 with that deck, with one loss feeling fairly close.
I had a lot of fun and met some very cool people. I wish I put more faces to names/handles, though! I hope to return next year with a goal of winning at least one runner game!
Congrats to Fa for placing first - I am happy to report that she was my round 1 opponent, ending me on turn 3 (I believe) with an unbelievable four card combo online so early in the game I foolishly decided not to respect after being tagged. I was the very first person to lose a game in the tournament, and I wear that badge of honor proudly.
