There have lately been rumors of a juicy beta test going on in a certain server. Easy target, right? Just a couple of pesky ICE. Little did the poor runner know that the technicians had (probably incidentally, since... who plays this card?) connected the company washing machine to the security grid. One's brain just can't take all that spinning in a washing machine.
I originally built this deck when Howler first came out. The combination of Whirlpool into Howler into Janus was just too silly to pass up. Of course, double Janus just makes everything better so I had to make a 2.0.
So the obvious kill combination is to suck the runner into a washing machine, howl really loud to awaken a Janus, and then just call up the twins to bring another of those bad boys out. If unbroken, we're looking at 8 brain damage which is either a straight flatline or makes the runner's life just extremely hard.
It's not a particularly reliable combo, but it has certain advantages. Mostly, it can fire without taking up your server's asset space, so you can actually score behind the kill combo if the runner is too scared. The deck is really just a glacier with a twist, and mostly wins by scoring. Once set up, the combo itself fires for 2 credits (since you get 1 from the Howler install) which is another advantage.
Howlers can also dig up ICE from archives, or you can do another stupid combo: discard Howlers to the Twins to install 2 or even 3 ICE, then surprise the runner with a rather steep drop when they emerge from the washing machine.
Of course the core concept gets ruined by AI breakers, mid-run installed parasites, Deus X and probably a few other things I didn't even think of. There's some guys with sharp implements to try and deal with one of those but beyond that, well, out of luck. Would this deck be better if it was just normal glacier? Very likely, but where's the fun in that?
I'm not entirely sure about the ICE suit, and I might lose the Clearances. Perhaps in favor of installing some explosive features to my washing machines.
