Corp playing some kind of horizontal solitaire that's all the rage? Why bother trying to keep pace when you can play solitaire yourself for a pleasing 30 minutes while waiting for them to tell you you've lost?
Hmmm...
I guess you can tell that the idea is to Replicator thin the deck, getting Technical Writer to document it all, and then suddenly have Infinite Overmind and Sage.
It does seem to happen, but it generally happens unreliably and more or less the turn before I lose the game. The only way I think I can reasonably move at any decent speed is to have this as the opening hand...: Replicator, Technical Writer, Sure Gamble, Net Chip, Magnum Opus.
Is the Sage/Overmind/NetChip idea basically discredited (boo) or do any of youse have advice on how I can make this kind of thing work (excellent!)?

NetChip does prevent you from spending memory though so it lets you have out a real program suite while still getting a very powerful Sage/Overmind. Look into Bazaar now that it's out. I doubt it will make the deck anything like competitive, but it will likely help your win rate. I'd also get a third Hyperdriver and maybe a sixth NetChip however possible. Sports Hopper is expensive and could be 2x Diesel just as easily. You need money to install so that would help. |

I'd recommend taking out at least one e3 Feedback Implants in favor of a Deep Red. It's one less influence point than MemStrips, it's cheaper, and pretty much does the same thing. Also, if you're going speed, Q-Coherence Chip + Bazaar + Replicator isn't bad either. However, I do think you need better Sentry protection. Mongoose is one of the best sentry-breakers in my opinion. As far as deck thinning, it may be slightly slower, but the Bazaar + Replicator combo helps you speed it up enough to justify running a Tyson Observatory. I also think Sports Hopper is a little excessive. Also maybe add one Inside Man for some semi-decent econ. Otherwise, I love the concept and I think I'll do some toying around with it, myself. |

Thanks Team. I'm not a natural Shaper, but i'm having fun figuring this one out. Deep Red performs well, but I'm still thinking I like the Astrolabe for the draw I can get from infinite asset spam I keep seeing. Replacing Sports Hopper with a Diesel and finding room for a couple of Inside Mans worked tremendously well. I've not had chance to try out Bazaar or Tyson Observatory yet. I'm struggling with slots... So: I do end up with massively over powered icebreakers, but it's still mostly too unreliable. Stealth breakers are brutal enough for most purposes, and have less moving parts. I might stick with it though, I have a reasonable Leela Patel: Trained Pragmatist that I can figure out how to pilot for when I want to actually win games, so I might stick with this idea a little longer to see if I can polish it a bit. |

I would add some way to recur your Overmind. Do you really need 3 Magnum O and e3? Paricia and Hyperdriver aren't really necessary for this deck, so you could swap in some Levy and Test Run, possibly also Retrieval Run if you free up influence. |
Netchip doesn't give you MU, so I don't think there's any way to make it work with Sage or Overmind.
