“Damn, I’m Good”
As the nerves kicked in today at SoCal Regionals I kept repeating Gnat’s flavor text internally as a mantra to keep myself calm. Not only was it my first ever regional tournament, I also was feeling a bit rusty, with not having played in a tournament since April. And with the recent release of R&R shaking the meta up, I was quite overwhelmed and had no idea which decks to take.
After testing out a bunch of runner decks, something about this Gnat build just felt…right. It’s not complicated. You quickly find your breakers, gain some funds by gambling and offering up your body for medical testing. You assemble your tools, and start speed running on whichever server makes the most sense. Twitch stream to all your followers to keep the momentum going. Make money, make high impact runs…and get that high speed record.
Shout out to my friend Zach for helping me test out this deck and convincing me to keep it as simple as possible without trying to tech for every matchup. I may have made a few misplays along the way (“Damn, I’m…getting better”), but I was really happy with how it played.

Definitely one of the scariest decks I faced on the day, and played well! The game in the cut was long but one of the most nerve-wracking ones and could easily have gone your way. Shadow Net is amazing in this meta even without the Fan Sites but they certainly help. |

Thanks
I was considering an Earthrise or two as well, would certainly be nice, but couldn't find the room. As amazing as Zer0 is, I think the good target cards for the net damage overlap too much with Patchwork-able cards, and the deck is already lean enough as is. |

I played a game with this on JNet last night and even though I lost it was a blast to play. Being able to toss your unused patchworks for discounts on Daily Casts, Sure Gamble, Levy, etc. is great. The deck is just a ton of fun to play in general. Kudos! |
Would you say you were using Patchwork most turns, because I found Patchwork makes you crave a lot of draw so I gravitated towards longer lasting draw with Earthrise and Zer0 (no CV, no room in my build).
