False Cricks (1st, Ottawa SanSan League, 15/06/06)

lopert 1618

3-1 in Swiss.

Wins versus: Noise, Valencia, Whizzard

The 1 loss was to some serious agenda flood versus Valencia.

In the Montreal Regionals the week before, this deck went 6-1, with the 1 loss being versus PPVP Kate and my inability to find an agenda and losing psi games.

This is close to Medioxcore's Gated Perfection deck. Changes and justification:

-1 Chronos, +1 False Lead

Chronos is "timing-dependant" in that you only really want to score it if it will hurt the runner. It ends game if you can catch the runner with it, but I've never really felt the need to hope the runner extends themselves thin enough to lose to a Chronos.

False Lead is timing independent, in that you can score it whenever you want. It also helps you score your other agendas by forcing the runner into spending both clicks running (no clicks to remove cash from Kati, etc.). If you have a False Lead and a Nisei token, you can literally score a Future Perfect undefended.

-1 Viper, +1 DBS

Daily Business show is amazing. Viper is meh.

-1 Ash, +1 Ichi 1.0

In testing, I found I never used Ash. It would just sit in my remote, and runners were already abandoning hope of getting in due to Caprice + Nisei tokens. Ichi is a great piece of ice in both the taxing, gear check, and False Lead friends categories.

-1 Lotus, +1 Crick

I've never liked lotus field, and with little yog in my meta and net ready eyes being a thing, I did not see the need. Crick is so good, and at one point I was even testing Crick #4 (Architect) but ultimately decided against it.

Runner here: Uneventful Kaplan
