🌸Doctor's Reflection (石井の書付)🌸 1st @ LARP

TheRealLap 101

As I travel back down to Terra (Train down to London), reflecting on my time at the Lunar Security Expo, I find myself speechless at the journey that began as a simple invitation to "see what the fuss is all about." What unfolded was an lense to the intricate strategies and the value of human connections that define not only core of the world (Netrunner) but also the heart of Jinteki.

Ishii's momento

The Art of Strategy

Our team of Jinteki executives embraced a variety of strategies, each reflecting a unique perspective on how best to embody the corporation’s ethos. My first grand decision on the day, to invest all my chips in sets of past Jinteki cards, was bold but nessecary to prevent them falling into the wrong hands. My continue purchases and lending these cards to my fellow excutives showcased our spirit of collaboration, which was returned in kind—credits gifted to me at a crucial moment allowed for the acquisition of tech cards that carried me through the semi-finals.

The tech cards played their role masterfully, but it was the older Jinteki cards that left an indelible mark. Their psychological impact on opponents was a sight to behold, evoking reactions that ranged from flabbergasted surprise to outright dismay. The elegance of balance and control are the very principles that first drew me to the runner Lat’s approach, but it was through these cards full of suprises that I secured my path to the final victory.

Rivalry and Respect

The rivalry against HB was particularly exhilarating. Their shameless copyright infringement—painting cards like Tatu-Bola and Anoetic Void purple—deserved every ounce of critique I delivered. Such audacity, I argued, contributed to their downfall, preventing them from advancing to the semi-finals. Yet, despite my gloating over Luminal’s ban, there was mutual respect, as they endured my provocations with grace.

Blatant Copyright Infringement

The Weyland players deserve recognition for their appreciation of economic might, successfully pushing two members into the semi-finals. However, careful management of such resources is equally important. Their decision to heavily invest in side selection reflected an overconfidence in their fortress of violence, leaving critical tools, such as Film Critic, on the table. Seizing the opportunity, I acquired this silver bullet, and used it to dismantle their strategy—accessing their project through a precise pinhole and slaughtering it to the outside world through contemporary media critique. Still, I must praise Lilith (played by Lily) for her inspired choice to import our Snares!—it is rare to encounter someone who can also appreciate such beauty.

The NBN executives added an entirely different flavor to the event. Victoria’s information broker persona, masterfully portrayed by ExtraC, was a highlight of the expo, her intrigue and calculated moves bringing a sense of gravitas. And Tiff, as Zanth, turned even the mundane act of eating a sandwich into a comedic masterpiece—a true lesson in roleplaying brilliance. It is a shame I didn’t have the chance to engage more deeply with the current news cycle.

Gratitude and Connection

This event was a celebration of camaraderie. To my fellow Jinteki executives—Reily as Dr. Rebecca Woodward, Augustus Caesur as Georg Müller, and sullivanblue as Lu Zehrmann—thank you for your insights, humor, and teamwork. To Zac (as Blaine), the organiser who brought this Security Expo to life, your dedication and bravery for making the first step is truly remarkable. And thank you to all the LARPers who supported the expo, especially those who had never touched the game before—it is a one-of-a-kind experience that I hope to never forget and I glad to have at least also convince some of you to join our line of profession.

Closing Reflection

Through this experience, I witnessed the embodiment of Jinteki’s core values:

  • Restoration, as we renewed our strategies and supported one another.
  • Potential, as we unleashed the creativity within each role and move.
  • Evolution, as we adapted to challenges and refined our play.
  • Perfection, as we brought balance, purpose, and the human touch to our games and interactions.

Thus to conclude, I offer this poem:

We are Jinteki, a reflection of humanity.

From Restoration, we end all suffering, renewing the soul of who we are.
From Potential, we unleash our nature, shaping what we’re meant to be.
Through Evolution, we refine the essence, adapting, growing, reaching far.
For Perfection, we bring balance and purpose, guided by the human touch.

This is Jinteki—for the Future Perfect.
