O&C Demo Bomb - Access ALL the cards!

BeNNyBiLL 692

Hello netrunnerDB community! I am new to the scene and I have been playing Netrunner for almost 2 months now. This is my first published decklist. I really wanted to make something completely different so for that I have chosen to include the unreleased O&C cards in this build to shake it up a little.

The premise of the deck is that you only need to run once or twice win. We will do that with some good old Mediums and a a crazy new card (namely Hivemind). Also feel safe knowing that Sea Source and Midseasons won't be playable as your only running on your winning turn (just watch out for Posted Bounty). Essentially you want to build a rig as follows;

  • A Progenitor hosting a Hivemind (with a single virus counter on hivemind - install after a Grimoire).
  • A Djinn for tutoring every other card that I haven't drawn into yet.
  • A single Incubator (preferably hosted on a Progenitor although not necessary).
  • Darwin (again preferably hosted on a Progenitor although not necessary).
  • 2 Medium (3 is overkill, but install as you please for total R&D access).

Note Hiveminds ability. We want to load up Hivemind such that Darwin can get in anywhere and Medium can access all the cards.

With the rig out you may notice that it is a prime candidate for a Purge. This is fine. I expect that. In fact I welcome it. Here is the 4 step guide to recovering from a Purge and winning the game:

  1. Your turn begins. Hivemind will still be at one counter for being hosted on Progenitor. Incubator gains a single virus token with its ability. Pay 1 to put a virus token on Darwin.
  2. Play Surge on Incubator. In fact, why not play 2 Surge's! You now have one fat Incubator.
  3. Move all virus tokens from Incubator onto Hivemind. For all intents and purposes you now have a Darwin in excess of 5+ virus counters and Mediums with 4+. (You MUST have Darwin to a strength high enough to break any ICE you are likely to see, which will vary per opponent)
  4. Run R&D! Use demolition run if you have only surged once so you can get mass multi access twice.

Best case scenario - All relevant cards are hosted on Progenitor, you defer the popping the incubator for a couple of turns and then double surge = Darwin is on 14 strength, all mediums count as having 10 virus tokens on them (before the run is successful) and you access 20 cards with 2 Mediums, 30 cards with 3! >_<

With so many bases covered with anarch pool of cards now, choosing cards to influence was a challenge and resulted in more unorthodox choices.

  • Magnum Opus felt necessary after failing to find a solid eco engine that could let me set-up at the pace I need.
  • Sacrificial Construct purely because Power Shutdown is a thing and Progenitor with a hosted Hivemnind is a BIG BIG target. Against Weyland you want to install excess Progenitor's without hosting programs on them just to absorb Power Shutdown. I also run Sacrifical construct so we can laugh at Swordsman.
  • Autoscripter so we can get the rig up even faster.
  • One copy of Deus X just because I had 1 influence left and I like the protection I get from it if I draw it.

Other notes:

Tutor remaining Medium's and install them as the last thing you do before your online. Don't give the game away early. The more ICE on R&D means more turns clicking MO. Autoscripter will help you install the Mediums in a single turn no problem!

Nerve Agent can be used to bait the Corp into ICE'ing HQ. Also it's not a bad alternative to access with a Demolition Run.

Use Steelskin as part of the draw engine unless against PE. Try to keep hand size to a multiple of 3 for fluke Snare! access dodging the Steelskin.

Why pick Noise if I never want to access the cards I mill into Archives? On paper perhaps Reina Roja would make more sense? Ultimately no anarch runner is well suited to this build. But I like what Noise does to the mindset of an opponent. Only Sneakdoor will rival the pressure that Noise puts on archives. Essentially by picking Noise I am tricking the opponent into spreading its ICE more thin. As we only run once or twice, any other runners ability seems wasted.

Caprice Nisei will make you cry. Hope that luck is on your side!

Thanks for reading. Feedback is welcome :-)

Good write up. And hello!

Why didnt you include D4v1d? Datasucker goes well with Hivemind and Djinn, i guess.

@whuppoI completely forgot about D4v1d. That will have to go in here somewhere, if only for IT Department horrors.

I would refrain from using any virus that spends its counters, because that counter is ultimately spent off of Hivemind, which would kill the synergy between itself, Darwin and Medium.

Perhaps it's worth dropping Autoscripter for e3 Feedback Implant & D4v1d combo. It's a tough choice though. I'd probably just squeeze a couple of D4v1d's in and leave everything as is. I'd bank on that being enough to get in.

Parasite doesn't spend virus counters. If you've got enough on your Hivemind to get a 5+ STR Darwin, you've got enough to obliterate almost any ICE for 2 credits.

@Jashayyou have completely missed the point of the deck here. If you don't run, then ICE will most likely be all unrezzed. At the point at which you do run you want to multi access so many cards such that the game ends. As such parasite would be a dead card in hand.

Cool idea! Love this use of Autoscripter.

No cache? Free mill and money, then a sac outlet, chop bot in faction or aesopes? Maybe you don't need it lol, really like the deck list though!!
