We Build the Things

So.

BWBI is one of those faces most people don't like. It's not 'the best', it's certainly not meta, and it doesn't seem to have the kind of OOMPH that other IDs have.

Then there's advanceable ICE, which everyone will absolutely tell you doesn't work.

The thing is, though, there's The Root, and Worlds Plaza, and the ability to collapse a bunch of assets into a single well-protected server. There's the IT Department jumping in to make the huge, practically free ice even huger and freer. There's Constellation Protocol which makes advancement tokens more valuable and the new Agendas that play face up and force the runner to do something about them that... you get to advance for free with the Root and watch the credits and advancement tokens roll in.

There's Ash that makes a stupidly expensive server cost double. There's Underway Grid that elimiates the danger of Bypass on servers - the one thing that remains a weakness with high strength/low subroutine ICE.

What this is is a late-game glacier that becomes crazily difficult to breach, with internal assets stacked several deep behind ICE that doesn't want to let people through. Take your time on each turn - try not to draw, and keep advancing. Stack it deep and tall, use the Root to maximize profit, and more.

It needs work - but it's brutal once it goes.

Not sure 3x The Root is the way to go, especially with so much influence left over.

Utopia Fragment is so good with public agendas it is absurd.

Global Food Initiative actually isn't that great here. There's only one case the runner will have to steal 4 agendas to win, and that's if he never sees a Hollywood Renovation. If you run UF, some Fast Tracks and Vanity Project you might be better off.

I find that Constellation Protocol works against Commercialization, or rather it's hard to hit windows where they are both worthwhile (especially CP). YMMV but I'd cut CP or build toward it a bit more (include Contract Killer or something).

Hmm. I like the UF - let me think through those agenda suggestions.

I've found the opposite on constellation - it's Ice Wall and Fire Wall that make it fly. I try to use my advancement clicks on the constellation ICE, then move the tokens down to an Ice Wall once they've rezzed in. Late game, I've had surprisingly large (sometimes 10-15 credits!) bursts if people haven't been religious about keeping those Roots out.

I'm unsure on the Root - without any recursion, losing roots can be really, really bad. It really opens those public agendas up, and makes advancing (and often rezzing) ice practically free. Could just be my caution, though. It's similar to IT department - I want to guarantee I've got it early, and backups just in case.

If I do move it, though, I do like the idea of Fast Track..... Hmm. I've got some things to test.
