The 3rs of Running Green

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Keep your carbon footprint low, reuse your credits, don't pay when you don't have to, make sure you get the most out of each credit. Don't buy new things just because you have to, and when you do, make sure you buy green.

There's a lot of little nuances to having an efficient economy with this deck, certainly a lot of stuff that assembles over the long game until you're pretty much unstoppable and you threaten an R&D lock. For that reason, your main concern are faster decks and against those you may have to assemble a cheap really crappy rig and then hope you end up where you need to be before the end game.

The link gives you some options, at least, and the final rig is so smooth it almost doesn't matter. This deck is better out of Hayley, but possible out of the professor. So, here's the crazier version.

One of the key ways to make sure you net money is to put extraneous things on the workshop so that you get the full credit value out of it when you sell it. This can be rabbit holes & hoppers in games where link/cards don't matter (mostly an HB thing). Or it can be something else.

The most pertinent economy engine is sahsrara+scheherezade+mkultra, and with faerie+many of the extremely efficient pumpers, you should be able to stealth your way through a sentry a run for free, so that you net the full 4. MKUltra also serves as a backup breaker vs a variety of pretty nasty ice.

Spike was chosen in this deck because inti is your barrier breaker of choice, and while it's fine with switchblade for late game big stuff and great for early game and it even offers some savings if there's a large server for which you must pump to at least str 1 on baba yaga for at least 3 ice; it's ultimately not the best way to get through some of that midrange ice, and spike will largely let you get through these for free a few times. Relevant in the weyland match most of all where you'll often see spiderweb and occasionally won't want to pay 4 to get through it. You could morning star instead, but the mu would be a pretty hefty price and it'd be unfetchable in the early game where spike might be enough to get in past the gear check to snag the astro/something else.
