Investment Strategies

Walker Net Ranger 139

Here's an attempt to kindle some hope for Fisk with some of the newer cards.

One thing I do like with an ID like Fisk, unlike Andromeda, is that you can play a Temujin Contract turn 1 and then spend your turn making money off of it without worrying about discarding down to 5 cards in grip at the end of your turn.

It's probably blasphemy not to play Account Siphon here, but I feel like Siphon also requires that you play cards like Networking, NACH, etc. to get good value out of it. Instead I opted for some Career Fair and good targets to go along with this, so me earning money is less dependent on the Corp having a poorly defended HQ. Besides, the game plan already has a strong focus on HQ, and I would hate to put all my eggs in one basket.

On to the strategy of the deck: multiaccess HQ all game, keeping the accesses on that server relevant. You probably won't want to start triggering Fisk's ability right away (nor his seminars), but get some draw and econ going with your other cards and assemble the rig, punish an undefended Archives, poke R&D and HQ, find out what the Corp is up to and maybe find some points.

Once you have a full rig, you'll want to fire stuff off like Fisk Investment Seminar into Legwork/Sifting, or Run R&D / install Eden Shard, then Legwork/Sifting.

Meanwhile the deck should make enough money and reward frequent running to the extent that you can find those points before the Corp can install them. Still, this might just be a better deck with Gabe or Leela, but I wanted to find some way to make Fisk's ID relevant in a deck.

Other thoughts: Eden Shard acts as a kind of 4th Fisk Investment Seminar, the deck isn't really focused on milling the corp but this might be a good secondary threat. Especially if some room is found to slot Deja Vu a couple times. The Deja Vu feels like a pretty bad card to draw early game though, compared to something like Beth or Datasucker.
