Vikram Bootcamp - 1st Lindhska Store Championship

Warpstoned 776

All props to bblum for his work on http://netrunnerdb.com/en/decklist/31948/bootcamp-glacier-is-here-to-stay

I switched out 2 Tollbooths for 2 Vikram because I had problems with the high cost of TB and the vulnerability to cutlery (unless protected by outer taxing ice). Vikram did an awesome job protecting RnD, especially medium using runners. Since then the first sub is useful too. Often I played it as the second ice on rnd. Encounters almost always ended with stealing 2 clicks and a jack out after, because programs were prevented from use.

I also switched a Crisium to another CVS because of all the anarchs. 2 CVS were really great. It let me find and drop one in archives earlier and still have one left in the deck. Icing archives is a chore otherwise against ice destruction.

The deck went 4-0, and won against 2 Whizzard, 1 Noise and 1 Jesminder.

Nice job!

Not sure if i got you right, but Vikram can't turn of Medium, because it is not a payed Ability.

From FAQ v.301:
“Using” Any time an ability is optional, the player resolving the ability is “using” the ability. This includes all paid abilities and all optional conditional abilities (triggered abilities that use the word “may” or “allows”).

Text on medium:
"Each virus counter after the first on Medium allows you to access 1 additional card from R&D whenever you access cards from R&D."

So the medium acquires virus tokens, but it can't be used to access more cards.

Or is there anything else I have missed?

@Warpstoned @Sutlomatsch, Warpstoned is correct, as per the FAQ text. Medium gets tokens but can't be used to access additional cards.

well, guess I'm wrong then :D

Well, it's mostly semantics, so it's easy to get wrong :)

You somehow found a way to tech even harder against Faust haha. Great job!

I put an e3 in the whiz faust deck and it absolutely cripples blue sun. Have you come accross that?

No. Not yet. If blue sun gets popular and people start slotting it I guess it could be annoying.

At least, stopping the wyldsides can leave single copies of E3 stuck in the stack for a while.

However, you can always build remotes with less s5 ice and try to tempo out the faust.

But yes. E3 gives whizzard a better match up against blue sun. No arguments there.
