WholeFOODs Pattinson Remix -2nd Place Eclectic Games Reading

Vetanari 32

So RP is a pretty solid deck right now. The one major drawback to slotting whitetree is that noise is gonna make you cry. No decks have great noise matchups right now, so I decided to play the deck that is good against (almost) everyone else.

TECH

  • Crisium did work - helping me dodge siphons and apocalypses all day.
  • DBS is an amazing card, I really want to find a way to play two.
  • Static did nothing all day, but I think that was more due to only playing noise twice. CVS was similarly dud, as I spent a lot of the day playing against stealth.
  • I am unsure if playing NAPD is good in this deck over fetal, but at least NAPD triggers from archives.
  • Pad did so much work over the day. Playing two seems good.

ICE

  • Crick x 3 is amazing. All ice post MWL is shitty, and its basically a pup that they have to break - even on the glory run. It is also a cheap way to make centrals "spiky" - slap a crick on the outside of an Eli and they cant just bounce anymore, they gotta pay the troll toll.
  • Assasin is ok, if only we still had the inf for 2x tollbooth.
  • 3x Lotus - This is something I was trying out because I expected pasasite spam. It was a bad choice, I played a lot of shaper and stealth crim and enigmas would have been similarly taxing to zul or cyber cyper but far cheaper and less bouncable.
  • Eli is the star of the show. Every non grail RP list should be on 3. Eli is the best ice in the game, and RP is the deck that best leverages that strength.

STRATEGY

Everyone knows RP. Slap assets in remotes , shore up the centrals and then force through a nisei with caprice. Once the token is yours, you are in the clear. The next couple of agendas are almost unassailable, as they have to win 2 psi games (and most people wont even play the first one). Its really hard for the opponent to win off of RND as you have crisium and only 8 agendas (3 of which you get to play the psi for)

Sticking a sundew is really powerful early game. The best ice for this is enigma, as its relatively cheap, ends the run and taxes a click. Usually they cant run a central, hit an enigma play the breaker and run again in the same turn. If they dont manage to kill the dew they wasted 3 clicks, giving you a really solid headstart.

Crick on the centrals is really really strong. 1 rez 3 str is awesome, and the subroutine is in a lot of cases better than end the run.

Changes

-1 lotus field -1 CVS -1 NAPD +1 DBS +1 good ice (maybe komainu?) +1 fetal AI

Given the surge of Faust in the last months, how do you feel about MHC's over Pad Campaigns? As I play RP more I am becoming more aware of it's downside (which used to be a shoulder shrugs). Interested what your thoughts are.

MHC pays off 2 turns sooner than PAD campaign, and most faust decks dont really have a problem having enough cards in hand to make 1 run on almost any server, so the downside of MHC isnt that significant.
