The Spanish Influenza v2.0

Snake Eyes 4639

Summary

This is my go-to deck for running. It is so much fun. It provides constant HQ-locked pressure, and uses Anarch viruses as well as criminal tricks to punish and maximize value for successfully getting into HQ and doing so as often as possible. I have won tournaments with it, one earlier version of it recorded here: http://stimhack.com/gnk-the-board-room-game-cafe-2014-13-players/

Performance

This deck is both extremely aggressive, and comfortable with setting up for the long game pending the situation. Getting the viruses going really help excel at what Gabe does best. Lamprey helps start a 4 credit swing on the first hit on HQ, and a 2 credit swing for the following runs. It is possible to lock someone out of the game by just hitting HQ every turn until they're down to zero credits. If they force a purge, Djinn up another one into hand and use the next 3 clicks setting up your board state. I have been getting a very good win rate with it.

Weaknesses

No program recursion. Few backups. No universal backup like Knight or Crypsis.

History

The Spanish Influenza as a deck has slowly been losing some of it's viruses since I first made it, notably 2x Pheromones and Crypsis. The Crypsis was an emergency breaker for Lotus Fields on remotes, and the pheromones basically just felt too finicky to use. The following cards are basically the heart and soul of the deck, making the Spanish Influenza name still stick: Lamprey and Nerve Agent with a side-order of Sneakdoor Beta, Datasucker, and Djinn to help with the Memory usage or bring forward any of your other viruses that may come out in the near future.

Recent Change:

v2.1 has been made. The difference is -1 Planned Assault, -1 Same Old Thing, +2 Dirty Laundry. Current victory rate is high. I feel as though it speeds up the game a little bit more.
