Chaos Theory Goes to College!

Ah, those crazy college years! Chaos Theory had a blast. Late diesel-fueled nights full of homework inevitably led to power naps. Class was a bit of a bore, but data folding was a way to kill some time, as well as make a little money. It’s impossible to get through college without some kind of job, and luckily for her, she found a part-time codebusting gig. Despite her busy schedule, she still was able to squeeze in some quality time with friends. Selling off some old collectibles were a lucky find for the buyer, but a nice wad of cash for little CT. A little gambling on the side didn’t hurt either, as long as it was a sure thing. Of course, it wouldn’t be college without a little experimentation, and she was talked into stimhacking…once. This was how she met Kati Jones, a valuable connection in funding her future projects.

After excelling at her studies, she was eventually permitted coveted access to the Levy AR Lab, where, with Dinosaurus by her side, she was finally able to create some truly amazing stuff. She was sure to mod herself with some e3 feedback implants, ensuring her work would be as efficient as possible. As a tribute to her favorite professor, she crafted Sage, a dual icebreaker that radiated wisdom. After rooting around in some of the junk bins of the lab, she was able to scavenge parts to create Overmind, a limited-use AI that, while powerful, required a hard reset once it ran dry. Her final breaker was a tribute to Kati, one of the craftiest women she knew. Femme Fatale embodied Kati’s devious methods and drive to succeed, whatever the cost. After her breaker suite was saved to her trusty fluffy console, she worked out a self-modifying code that could replicate each of them. It only took a couple test runs to ensure everything was working smoothly. Her final creation came thanks to some advice from a visitor to the school who called himself Whizzard, a self-proclaimed Master Gamer. With his intel, she crafted an ice carver, a virtual gem that drained some of the strength from those pesky intrusion countermeasures electronics, better known as ICE.

When she showed her work to Kati, the older woman was impressed, offering CT a gift. She held in her hand three small devices, interfaces that could provide more open access to corporation R&D servers. The problem: they needed to be installed at the target’s desk. Kati simply smiled. For a price, with a friendly discount, Kati said she could arrange for someone to make sure they were installed. She called her Silhouette, but that must have been a codename.

On her last day in the AR Lab, CT decided to be a bit devious and stole The Professor’s Maker’s Eye, a valuable asset, considering the plans she had. She set out from college, surveying the expanse of the city before her. She hugged Dinosaurus tightly, trembling with excitement. The world was about to experience chaos…
