So, this deck is the brain child of a bunch of different argus decks that have been pooping up. @Creditzathotmail Argus list and Lobstermodernism mainly. I ALMOST named this deck "I drew the nuts and boomed Josh Wilson on turn 4", but those games were meh and RNG reigned supreme.
I didn't really know what to play the night before and it didn't snap to me until I was talking to greg (@CritHitd20) the night before on the way back from the bar. After talking about the flexibility of Argus, I realized that it really isn't a solved list yet. That is, there isn't one optimal list with a couple interchangable slots (similar to CtM, Moons, Etc.) There is still a lot of weird shit you can do with a pile of Olive cards and some select yellow ones.
I had previously been playing Azmari and other yellow decks during testing, but they all felt kind of boring to me. So I switched to a couple different Argus lists, and while they were a lot more fun, they felt like they were missing something. After a bunch of changes (from adding snare, to breached domes, even trying out Hunter Seeker as my restricted) It finally clicked as to what was missing. Exchange of Information. My favorite card.
Anyway, that's how this list game about. I am not posting my Runner list yet as someone from NorCal will probably post it if they haven't yet. But it was RNG key FTT Val given to be by @crithitd20 the night before so I didn't get drunk and build a smoke deck without a proper killer (long story).
Card Choices:
Agendas are pretty straight forward. Rush hard and the runner really doesn't have a choice but to be put in a losing situation. All of these agendas are pretty good with that strat.
Assets: When a good player looks at this list, they are most likely drawn to the GLARING 2 Rashida. There was one game in which I wish I had three, but otherwise It was fine. It was a long game in the cut that went to time and I just needed to draw a hostile as we were both on 6 points. So an extra three cards that game would have probably won it for me. The "correct" thing to do is put three in and cut something else. But you can run 2 just fine. NGO is NGO and synergises well with HHN.
Upgrades: K. P. Lynn. My girl. I loved playing this card in a couple of different Sync builds about earlier in the fall just because it worked so well with QPM. I forgot about it for awhile, and those slots were prisecs for the longest time. A lot people wondered why I didn't just run prisec, You can argue that K.P. is cheaper to use and provides them the option to outplay themselves and not steal your agenda. So it makes scoring a little easier when people are tired. BUT the real reason is that I just love this card. Prisec is probably better? Tough to say.
Operations: Your operations give you a lot of different lines of play and a bunch of flexibility. Install, Advance, Advance is a good play when you have 1 part of the EOI combo and a consulting visit in hand. Atlas counter also helps make this happen, which you get at least one in most games. MVP goes out to Voter intimidation. Most Argus lists are running MCA informant and I think that this is a mistake. A lot of times I don't really even care about film critic. Them losing two clicks is almost better than them getting a tag most times. That is two less clicks for them to spend on economy. Voter Intimidation kills The Turning Wheeling, FTT, a full Liberate Account, Film Citic, Shadow Net, etc. There are just a lot better targets that it can hit. FTT val only has The Turning Wheel as multiaccess, so it is kind of a huge deal if you kill both. EOI and Sea source is pretty straight forward. If they are tagged via HHN, EOI for "free" or you can SEA EOI whenever you have access to the combo. Bblum almost rused me into EOi'ing my own GFI for a Stand Off he stole. Sneaky dude that one. Everything else is money and ways to tag the runner. Boomed two people all day. High Profile Target seems better in my opinion.
ICE: Archer is the best ICE in the game. Anything 3+ subs and 5+str is very taxing to anarchs. Mausolous being great for this. In a game Vs. Austin Mills (Great player and plays my favorite kinds of decks. Very similar playstyle.), I had to forfeit three agendas to keep him out of a server. Maxwell james is great and you should probably have him in just about any deck. The server was Archer, Tithonium, Archer and saw from a spy cam that I drew an Archer the last turn. I drew it and immediately slapped it on R&D. There couldn't possibly be three archers installed, right? There was. It was sad days for the mongoose.
Overall, It was a blast. I had so much fun and all of my games were fantastic. Shout out to Austin Mills for one of the most heart racing games I have played vs. his MTI, and Bblum for his comical mid game rusings (that almost worked). I shouldn't have reminded people about triggers or tags, but I did and lost some games because of it. It just feels bad when you forget a tag and in the end, we are playing to have fun, not feel like garbage because of an oversight.
Thanks all! Hope to see your faces in Cleveland again sometime soon! I am always down to game. Special thanks to @CritHitD20 and @FoilFlaws for decklist/match up advice. You guys da best.
