FlexiRig 1.0

This deck is put together with flexibility in mind. It excels at having the ability to quickly pull out the programs that will get you through a server the cheapest and readjust your rig on the fly to pressure wherever the corp is weakest.

Economy is based based on Magnum Opus and Freelance Coding Contract with Sure Gamble and Modded for additional boost.

With that in mind the cards you're looking for in your opening hand are (in order of importance):

1) Magnum Opus and/or Freelance

2) Quality Time or Diesel

3) Modded

With a bit of luck this type of hand should allow you to finish your first turn with around 10 credits and possibly MO on the table (depending on other cards). If you are forced to play with a bad draw just try to land Magnum Opus, get some credits and regain your pacing. Although the corp will probably score an agenda while you're doing that.

From here on out continue drawing cards, installing the cheaper ones and Freelancing others. If you get Sharpshooter or Faerie you can do some exploratory runs the get a feel for the corps ice.

There is no fixed way to play this deck after that, the general idea is to start pushing where the corp is weakest. Most of the time you want to Test Run + Scavenge some big, annoying breakers to the table and run.

You will constantly want to adjust to what the corp is doing. For example:

  • R&D is weak? Install/Scavenge Medium or Keyhole.

  • Archives/HQ are weak? Install/Scavenge Sneakdoor and/or Nerve Agent.

  • Corp trying to score because you don't have a full rig - Install/Scavenge Femme or just switch icebreakers.

  • They play with low str code gates? Get Yog. Low str barriers? Get Battering Ram. Seeing Chum and/or Viper? Get Torch. And so on :)

Here are a few things to remember:

  • Test Run and Scavenge can be used to pull any program from the stack or the heap, not just icebreakers.

  • Same Old Thing is there to replace anything you need but don't have at the moment - Scavenge, Test Run, even Quality Time.

  • If the game drags out you can just Levy everything back to the stack and start again.

  • Djinn is a wonderful MU extending tool, you can host all kinds of useful stuff on it, like Magnum Opus, Keyhole, Sneakdoor. Play it if you manage to get it early

  • There is no defense against Scorched Earth in this deck so if you suspect the corp of playing a burn deck try to have a lot of credits to offset any traces they might pull (SEA Source, Counterstrike, Midseason)

  • If they're playing a lot of asset economy - deny it. You're rich enough for it.

Last but not least - try to be surprising and don't be afraid to scavenge icebreakers for ones you need to get in right now. This will catch many corp players off guard.
