Core Weyland farewell tour (2nd @ Malmö DC)

DoubleK 844

I wanted to give some old-school IDs one last run in a tournament before they rotate and this is what I came up with. It's a straightforward deck that likes to push out agendas in a remote as early as possible and threatens to kill if the runner interferes.

Mulligan for a couple of the 15 transaction operations to get rich early and turn on the Punitive threat.

Then start rushing out agendas on a remote as soon as possible. Don't worry about centrals too much. Put a Tithe in there to slow down the runner if you feel like it. The net damage and credit is relevant for Punitive.

You can't really keep the runner out from servers with this deck, so use fear of death as a main deterrent. Some combination of Data Loop, Anemone, Tithe, Argus Crackdown, Angelique, City Works and Punitive are the tools at your disposal.

Wear your chosen gangster props and deliver the cheesiest villain one-liners for added effect, or to your own amusement if nothing else. Make it seem like you're always ready to murder the runner if they make the slightest mistake, especially when you don't have the cards for it. You might top-deck or find them with Planogram anyway.

Argus Crackdown is my favourite card in this deck. It makes Data Loops and Anemones disgusting and Tithes even more annoying, often opening up the kill window to throw the runner out of.

Use Pivot to bypass an R&D lock to push out more agendas on the remote.

Most wins come via flatline, but if the runner lets you get to match point, use Pivot + Audacity to find and score out the winning Hostile Takeover.

I got 2 flatline wins, one score-out win, one timed win and one loss in a Malmö District Championships with this deck, ending up as king of swiss and 2nd overall. I think that's a decent farewell for the 2012 core set Weyland.

Shoutouts to Naim for organising another great tournament, to Kagolskab for the win, and all the Netrunners from the Swedish and Danish meta for fun games during the day.

Thanks for reading and Always Be Running!
