Mushin Yo Assets

Aerosaucer 257

Most gleefully trolly deck I have played. You don't need a scoring server, and you don't need much big ICE - you just need to get an economic lead and maybe trash a resource. As Gagarin, the asset spam is super taxing to deal with, and you can keep bringing out must-trash assets like Public Support, Daily Business Show, and Corporate Town and getting an economic advantage by making them lose all their money. Alternatively, set up a single-ice server with The Root and you'll never have to spend any of your real money again as you stack more ice on centrals and advance random face-down cards that could be agendas, could be traps, or could be Contract Killer.

The deck only has 6 agendas. 2 high-impact one-pointers complement the Public Supports to power Archer and Corporate Town, or let you slowly drip your way to a win in the rare circumstance you win by agenda points. Vanity Project and Government Takeover lead to a super-low agenda density, so you don't have to worry as much about random accesses. That's even more true when you can just Punitive them to death if they do randomly hit a big agenda off R&D (the downside is that goes off the table if you can't act immediately once they score one of those 4 agendas). It's possible for the runner to still not win even after stealing half the agendas, and it's often easy to hide the big ones in archives, at the bottom of the deck (DBS), or in your hand if you can keep their attention on remotes and R&D. The big downside that keeps this deck from really being tournament-worthy is that you WILL sometimes lose games because someone hit 2x Vanity Project on a Maker's Eye run early on. For me, the fun is worth it.

You don't need a scoring server because of Mushin No Shin. It allows you to score Vanity Project the turn after you install it (the optimal way to win by agenda points is to score two VP's, which I know isn't super efficient, but it just synergizes too well with everything else - and has the upside that you only really have to score twice), which isn't normally possible, so the runner will want to run it. But if it's instead a Project Junebug or Shattered Remains, you likely will flatline or wreck them if they do run it. It borrows that Yomi-level mind game aspect from Cambridge PE. But it's got a new twist - if they don't go for the trap, you can advance-advance-Back Channels for 15 credits, which is a nice way to suddenly shoot into Punitive range. It used to be a failed trap was a huge waste of resources. Now it's the opposite! It's a win-win!

This deck's worst enemies:

1) Wizzard, Scrubber, Magnum Opus: these all fall into the range of reducing the economic lead you can get from asset spam. They aren't a death sentence, but they certainly are a harder matchup. You probably can't punitive and just have to keep them busy until you can set up a Junebug kill or trick them into letting you score out.

2) Plascrete and other meat damage protection: makes it harder to use Punitive. This deck doesn't NEED Punitive to work, it just uses it to create catch-22 situations for the runner. So you just lose part of your threat and have to work harder. Set up a Contract Killer for extra damage or just get a huge pile of money and 2-3 Punitives in your hand.

3) Deus X: turns off the damage of Junebug, making it harder to score out. Once the opponent sees you have Junebug, they will start running anything you Mushin. Punish them with Shattered Remains, hopefully getting rid of all their Clone Chips so they can't recur DX.

4) Film Critic: Turns off Punitive. Fortunately, Corporate Town and Contract Killer can both take her out.

I think this is the best version of this deck after testing, but I'm not sure. I'm considering:

Aggressive Secretary More Contract Killers or Shattered Remains Dropping Private Contracts

I have tried and dropped Expo Hall and Restructure as too much "win-more". There is probably a version of this deck that drops the Root for something else, but I'm not sure it would be an improvement. It seems on its face like it won't help you with Punitive, but in practice it keeps your from having to spend your bank to rez or advance things, making for big value.

I hope you enjoy this deck as much as I have!
