Deck valid after Fifth Rotation |
I took one look at Backroom Machinations when it came out and new I wanted to try to make it a real win condition. I don't know if I've succeeded, but I've at least tried my best to recreate Bouncy Bois (https://netrunnerdb.com/en/decklist/ba6ced1b-53f9-44f6-9254-9f55bfa75419/bouncy-bois-5th-at-euros) in Startup. I threw together something, jammed a few games on Jinteki.net, and was pretty happy with the result. I like how it plays even if it's not super competitive.
Much like Bouncy Bois, the idea of the deck is to score two 3-pointers in a taxing remote and use a "fake point" to count to seven. Low agenda density along with the fake point allow us to score exactly seven points while the runner has to steal nine points to win. Public Trail into Backroom Machinations is the usual gameplan. Runners seem to be pretty rich, but we generally have pretty taxing ice and some punishment to back up the tag threats in the form of Retribution and Psychographics.
If I was to reevaluate and update the deck, I might experiment with removing the third Manegarm for something else. Maybe a second Pharos or more money?
Anyway, try it out and tell me what you think!
