Pancakes on the beach with Mephistopheles

wily-odysseus 119

Credit for the bulk of this deck goes to @Inermis for "Faustonomy" (http://netrunnerdb.com/en/decklist/24669/faustonomy-1st-place-gnk-games-of-berkeley-)--this is my own tweaked version that I have had a blast playing recently.

Faust is the star of the show, fueled by your 10-15 card hand from Adjusted Chronotype/Beach Party/Gene Conditioning Shoppe. It takes a little while to set up, but Hayley helps accelerate that. It has the bursty Pre-paid economy that we all know and love, but supplemented by a bursty draw economy. Once you're set up, it is very hard for the corp to keep you out, no matter how poor you may appear.

Damage corps can suck it, though a tactical tag strike on your resources from a well-timed Sea Source or Breaking News can ruin your day. Fall Guy would be great, but I don't know where I'd take the influence. The Plascrete is an extra bit of security, though I'm contemplating swapping it for a Bookmark, which could fill a similar role while also being more generally useful as instant-speed Faust food if you don't need the protection.

Changes I made from the original deck: - 1 Lady - 1 Clot - 1 Gordian Blade + 1 Corroder + 1 Film Critic + 1 Study Guide

I found that without any recursion other than Levy I was running Lady dry too frequently, and sometimes I would be caught not having a program to install over it, so I could get it in the trash for Levy recursion. I also had piles of money as the game went on and not a lot to spend it on, so I swapped in Corroder. Study Guide for Gordian is a matter of personal taste. A Fast Advance corp that gets a quick start can be a problem with the set up time, so you might miss Clot, but without Clone Chips I felt like I wasn't getting the best use out of it. Film Critic fills a similar utility slot and it has more than justified its place. I've considered changing Comet for Astrolabe, though I like how cheap Astrolabe is for Hayley's ability.
