My attempt at a Brain Damage/Kill Deck. Reasonably successful so far (positive W/L) The goal is to hit your opponent early with some brain damage (either with a poorly defended Cerebral, a better defended EOW or a Viktor/Ryon combo) and follow it up with a biotic'd Self-Destruct or two. Pretty reliably does 2-3 brain damage/hand reduction, which slows the runner way down. At that point, you have a lot more freedom to play out assets with little protection and focus on scoring out some winning agendas or draw into your neurals. Use GRNDLs to lure the runner through a scoring server and open up a window, or, if they don't run, just collect your 12-16 credits next turn.
Difficulties
-The ice is a bit too porous and has difficulty keeping runners out late game.
-If you get your asset economy making money early, you're fine, but, if it doesn't come up, or you're facing a trash happy Anarch deck, it's difficult to get the cash together to turn on critical ice/activate traps/advance agendas/do anything necessary to win the game.
-Anarchs. Should be self explanatory.
Other thoughts
-Ryon's not super reliable. I usually get at least one Cerebral or EOW to fire in a game, but, I've only gotten Ryon to fire once ever. People are less willing to click through the bioroids then I thought they'd be.
-ETF over Cybernetics because of the credit, which is sorely needed, and as a cover for the brain damage. You see Cybernetics, you know there's brain damage. You see ETF, you think glacier.
-Agenda suite is wonky. Probably want to include the fragments. Sentinel either gives away the deck too early, or shows up too late to matter, but, there's not enough ICE for ABT to help. Probably just NAPD.
-Included Blue Level as a hedge against economy trashing. It's helped prevent getting totally shut down, but, I'm not sure if it's a big enough push for what you need. Maybe Restructuring instead.
Clearly, this isn't an optimized deck, but, I can tell you that the fear that a runner has when you've done 3 or 4 brain damage too him is just amazing.

Lots of good ideas there. The Punitive Counterstrike seem like a more efficient damage and I'm definitely interested in adding Inazuma. I do love my GRNDL Refinery as they add another option for the unrezzed advanced card guessing game, but, Eve Campaign would be more reliable money. I'm going to keep tooling around with it. Thanks for the advice. |
What about swapping the Sentinel Defense Program for another 5/3 agenda and then running Punitive Counterstrike instead of Neural EMP? With a hand size reduced by 2-3 the runner will struggle to defend against 2 of those.
As you have suggested that Ryon Knight isn't doing a lot for you, what about swapping up your economy a bit and going -2 GRNDL Refinery, -2 Ryon Knight, -2 Blue Level Clearance, +3 Eve Campaign, +3 Breaker Bay Grid. You would have 2 influence left over, which could be -1 Biotic Labor, +1 Caprice Nisei or having a swap around and getting another Edge of World in? Your ice is quite expensive to rez, so more money is always good. Could even go with Brain-Taping Warehouse instead of the Adonis Campaign? Less good if you go the Punitive Counterstrike route I think.
Otherwise, nice idea for a deck.
P.S. If you are really struggling on where to spend the extra 2 influence if you decide to try out my economy suggestions, you wouldn't go far wrong with an Inazuma or 2; brutal in front of an Ichi 1.0/Ichi 2.0 or Viktor 1.0/Viktor 2.0.
