Hellsinki Regionals 16/05/2015 second place (29 players), 4-2
Turku Fantasiapelit Store Championships 09/05/2015 first place (8 players), 7-0
In the Regionals went 3-1 in Swiss, won against Titan rush, RP and ETF Glacier. Only loss was to a NEH Butcher Shop as I didn't check remotes enough and got surprised with a naked Breaking News + Astro counter + double Scorch before I could get my Plascrete out.
In elimination won another ETF Glacier but lost to the winners NEH FA 7-6. "Why didn't I run the remote instead of RD after Vamp" is the question I'll ask from myself for months. 3 Pop-ups in RD is enough credits for the Corp to win.
The deck is a pretty straight forward Vamp Kit. Get Magnum Opus out, Cy-Cy into HQ and click for credits. Your opponent will still ICE up their scoring remote and RD, especially if you have one RDI out. Femme as the only Killer might seem weak, but her main function is to bypass the second ICE in HQ. Net-Ready Eyes will make it easier to deal with Architect and other 3 str Sentries. Tinkering is for the third ICE in HQ if the board state ever goes there, or for a desperate remote snip if you can't Vamp.
In the Regionals I only had Woman in the Red Dress out in one game. But it's just so good in this deck. You'll get more info about the cards that flow through, making it easier to just click for 8 (or 7 + draw). If it's an Agenda and the Corp takes it into HQ it's time to Legwork. If the corp takes the card and it's not an Agenda, maybe it's time for some Maker's Eye. If the corp leaves the card in RD, Stimhack if Agenda, otherwise you just click for credits.
I managed to surprise the RP player totally. He just didn't see it coming. 3 ICE in remote he IA's a card. Vamp, run remote and score 2 points from NAPD, then Maker's Eye into RD to find a TFP, bid 0 and win the game. No psi-game hassle when the corp has 0 credits. During the Swiss Rounds my ETF opponent had Crisium Grid in HQ even though he wasn't sure what my deck was. I had to trash it 3-4 times (he kept getting it back with Archived Memories). All this back and forth really made his play a lot slower and in the end I managed to win even without constant Vamp threat. FA NEH with Shipment from SanSan and other cheap FA tricks (Trick of Light I would assume, haven't encountered yet) are really tough match ups. And Butcher Shop can be too.
This deck is still far from perfect, but I'm not sure what changes to make. I installed Torch only in one game during the 2 tournaments. It's a safe valve if the Corp (especially ETF) starts to spam 1 ICE remotes all over the place like my friend likes to do, as I would run out of Scavenges in no time. I used to have 2x Symmetrical Visage, but I had to cut out something to get 3x Magnum Opus to avoid using tutors as much as possible in the beginning of the game. Symmetrical Visage is just so good that I think I'll put in 3, but not sure yet what to cut. Next step is to experiment with London Library and Chameleon.

To be honest I don't like Comet too much, but haven't tried it in this deck. When thinking back, it could be really good in some situations. Usually I have my grip full of events when waiting for the right moment and when it comes the "free click" would sometimes be worth it. Typical "power turns" are 1. Test Run Femme 2. Vamp 3. Run remote or The Maker's Eye. 4. The Maker's Eye if 3. was remote sniping. The extra click could make it possible to Scavenge the Femme or something else. Maybe even click for . But then there's the 4 install cost :( |
I really like the idea of this deck. Using Woman to see when and where you should run, else for MOpus. I think Vamp really adds the extra push to make this deck strong.
Nice job and congrats on your performance :)
