Remote Deep Space Server

The idea i had behind this deck is basically creating a single server in space. Very hard and taxing to access, and when you do access it, there are 2-3 facedown upgrades and an Agenda. By forcing the runner to pay heavy taxes on ice, and then even heavier taxes to access, keeping them perpetually poor, and eventually unable to run. The ice helps make itself cheap or free.

  • Satellite Grid is a great card to have in your R&D and your Single remote. It makes your ice very cheap combined with the single Simone Diego. Red Herrings can be stacked on the remote server, or put individually on R&D and the single Remote. The beauty behind Gagarin Deep Space: Expanding the Horizon is that it makes the trash cost really add up.

  • The weakness lies in the fact that little to no ice would be protecting HQ. With the heavy ice in the deck, as well as the Glenn Station to stash your important agendas while you dig for the ultimate Remote server.

  • What's the benefit of the single remote server with Gagarin Deep Space: Expanding the Horizon? Easily, the fact that having upgrades on one server that are harder to find, as well as trash, in conjunction with strong ice that you can make incredibly cheap or free. I've toyed around with the idea of manipulating the ice in the server so you can put in in a position you most would like with the Jinteki card Sunset.

  • The ideal position of the ice is a Builder on top of Errand Boy on both your Remote and R&D. Those two pieces of ice help you Rez your next stronger pieces. Asteroid Belt is your best ice on the outside. As the possibility for a free 6 strength barrier is great. Wormhole is a good next layer piece of ice, allowing you to choose exactly which subroutines you want to use. You can use Builder again to cheapen your next ice, or you can use Asteroid Belt for another End the Run. Nebula is great surprise ice. You can always Rez it for free, and copy it with Wormhole. the placement of this ice should be random, and help you to keep your opponent guessing. Lastly, Orion, in my opinion works best on the outermost rung of ice, but also can double as a nice surprise double End the Run. Pop-up Window are great on the innermost run, as they allow you to steal yet another cred from the runner before they start attempting to access facedown cards in your server.

  • The cost of a "Perfect Space Remote" would incredibly high, assuming the runner does not break either Builder or Errand Boy. It costs Corroder 5 just to get past Asteroid Belt without any datasuckers, and a hefty 9 to get past Orion. Those are some great numbers assuming you paid hardly anything (or nothing) for your ice.

This is in no way perfect.. maybe not even good. but it's a good bit of fun to try out if you want to get away from the same old tag and bag weyland. again, i've toyed with the idea of Sunset, Tollbooth, Lag Time, a host of other currents, as well as changing the numbers on some of the upgrades/operations. any input would be appreciated, and i would love to hear what you guys think.

I think the first few turns of the game are going to be really tough for this deck. It looks quite difficult to protect R&D, HQ and a remote (also potentially Archives if there are Sneakdoor Beta issues) in the first stage of the game. Perhaps some copies of Ice Wall which are cheap but also able to be advanced -basically some cheap ICE and also more end the run subroutines.

Why do you need to protect both R&D and HQ? Well if you're using Government Takeover and someone uses Legwork or Indexing or even The Maker's Eye you might run into some serious problems.

To make room, you could cut the Blue Level Clearance and either Beanstalk Royalties or Green Level Clearance

Also, I have a feeling Ash 2X3ZB9CY is going to be really good with Gagarin Deep Space: Expanding the Horizon -but I've yet to experiment with it.

Let me know how testing goes. I like the idea here!
