I live very remotely with just one friend in town who also plays netrunner. So when I heard that there was a new group forming just an hour away I was excited to drive over for a small tournament. The caveat: It was going to be Startup and I haven't played that since the age of Endurance and Drago. Well, let's look into it!
I quickly realized that Arissana was very well supported by the Startup cardpool, so I didn't really had to worry about that. But what to play as corp? Panic PD? I am no great PD player in the first place and was afraid of trying it without core pieces like Gatekeeper and Rashida. Nah, let's not score, let's just kill and play BtL (which I am very comfy with). It seemed easier to just advance a Clearinghouse behind absurd barriers, since there is no Pinhole. Let's put in Punitives and add another angle that way. Lif3line takes a look at the deck the night before and suggests the 3rd Punitive, which I immediately sleeved up and sent it, it proved to be very useful.
I never advanced a Clearinghouse to 6 on the day, but killed once with double Punitive and once with 3 damage from Clearinghouse plus another 3 damage from Punitive. The ice suite is hard to handle for runners in the early game and I was always able to assemble the pieces even though Charlotte never fired on my turn.
Thanks a lot to Saplacat and Raven for starting a new scene in Kiel and hosting the tournament in the lovely Yggdrasil Café and lostgeek for the price support!
