Pre-rotation decklist |
I took a trip in the Way Back Machine, all the way back to the 2012 Android: Netrunner World Championships. I thought the winning decks, including the runner-up's decks, were beautifully simple, fundamental and, well...charming!
This deck list is updated to reflect the current post-rotation tournament legal card pool. Diversion of Funds replaces Account Siphon. Paragon replaces Desperado.
For the Icebreakers, we have Paperclip instead of Corroder, Faerie instead of Ninja, and Amina instead of Yog.0.
Notably, when I removed Parasite I opted not to replace it with more ICE destruction, but instead chose to add to the economic pressure with Corporate "Grant". This seems more in keeping with the Criminal faction's "modus operandi," leaving the Wanton Destruction to the Anarchs!
I am a novice player, who just got my whole family into the game at Christmastime of 2017 with the purchase of the Revised Core Sets. I have been purchasing the packs from the Kitara Cycle as they came out and had been planning a leisurely dive into the previous expansions as we all became more familiar with the game. When FFG announced on June 8, 2018 ("a date which will live in infamy...") that their official support for the game would end in October of 2018, I made a Mad Dash for all the cards and am now very pleased to have a complete set!
Netrunner has evolved a lot since those halcyon days of 2012, so naturally I don't expect this deck to be Tier One anymore, but it seems like it would be a good teaching deck---especially when paired against Jeremy Zwirn's Weyland deck and runner-up Ben Marsh's Haas-Bioroid deck. As a novice I have not had a chance to mine the depths of the entire card pool, so any suggestions to this list are most welcome, especially regarding the icebreaker suite and whether it's a good plan to omit ICE destruction and choose a credit denial strategy instead.
Thanks!

Taking old tournament decks and revamping them with newer cards is a really cool project! Thank you for posting this.
