Reviews

While Madani doesn't give you any +1[mu] (like every other Console), it does implicitly increase your virtual memory-limit: hosted programs won't use MU, but they will still be available to install mid-run. CF. a Leprechaun-esque a Daemon with The memory costs of hosted programs do not count against your memory limit.

It repeatedly enables DZMZ Optimizer on the Corp's turn (saving 2[$] per ‘round’). Same with other The first time each turn you install a program, … or The first program you install each turn … triggers/conditions. (Although not LilyPAD, being a Console itself.)

It ‘accelerates’ the timing of any program in your “Madani grip” (like Ari does or Personal Workshop did):

  • Muse becomes Self-modifying Code/Clone Chip.
  • Icebreakers and Trojans (Botulus, Chromatophores, Hush, etc) can respond to facechecks.
  • Value/Econ cards (like Coalescence) can be ‘compressed’, ‘dripping’ extra value from a single click, just by waiting a turn or two. (In the limit, you could host three Coalescences for [click], then install them on this-/Corp-/next-turns, netting +6[$], more than a Sure Gamble.)
  • Tech/Hate cards (like Azimat) can be hosted, so that they don't clog up your your memory-limit or max-hand-size, while still being available (without wasting any SMC/Simulchip usages).

Likewise, it can ‘liquidate’ mid-run credits:

  • Overclock’s 5[$] (R.I.P. Trick Shot) can be fully-spent even against uniced servers (EG. installing a Coalescence and trashing an Asset).

However, I'd prefer a templating that preserves hidden-information, like:

  • [click]: Host any number of cards from your grip facedown on this hardware.
  • Once per turn → 0[$]: Install 1 hosted card that's a program.

AFAICT, madani means “civil”/“civilized”.

PS. The first three times I re-read Madani, I realized something new. Very Shaper!
