Deep Space 9% Tax v1.1

Round 2! After reading some suggestions, I've changed a few things.

ICE:

Less of an emphasis on taxing ICE. Pop-up and Pup are nice but I think the influence is better used elsewhere. The deck as is plays toward a glacier style with one ICEd scoring remote. Some better tracing ICE could be included if there is a sub that the Runner would absolutely need to break. I'm flirting with Checkpoint even though damage isn't supported because a) the Runner doesn't know that and b) I think they'd be too scared to NOT break the sub/trace. If I have to squeeze Elizabeth Mills in, Checkpoint may follow.

ASSETS:

GRNDL Refinery is a good add although the trash cost is lower than I'd like. It really is basically a reverse-Reversed Accounts without the influence. I think this deck leans toward a naked install to use later (advance-advance-click/trash for 8c when you see a scoring window coming up). Mental Health Clinic is pricey in influence but exactly what I want for this deck. Extra hand size for the Runner is fine since we don't do any damage...it's free to rez and 4c to access and trash. Executive Boot Camp can get things rolling but 2x may be too much. It provides a little discount for rezzing PAD or Private Contracts but that's it outside of being a tutor.

UPGRADES:

Ash 2X3ZB9CY makes the deck work. This is the card that was missing. Use your pile of cash to keep the Runner out and score a 5/3. Crisium Grid is still going to be necessary in an Anarch-heavy meta but does well against really good events anyway.

AGENDAS:

I think 7/9 are set in stone, Priority Requisition can be replaced as you want. Project Atlas is basically a naked install you may be able to sneak out in Asset spam, NAPD Contract is super taxing once installed, and Utopia Fragment makes things crazy expensive to steal. PriReq presses economic advantage in another way by letting you rez a big piece of ICE for free, which is potentially an 8-10c swing.

CONCERNS:

Bad Pub ruins this deck. Elizabeth Mills may be necessary depending on Valencia/BP usage in your meta. Even then you're not Blue Sun so I don't know how you'd remove more than 1 or 2 BP. BP is a definite weakness and I'd cry a little if Valencia sat across from me.

2x Mental Health Clinic is gonna irk some people, I know. That and PAD Campaign are the backbone of this design though. 4 influence is a lot to spend and if there was some obvious better usage, it could be cut.

Restructure is a rich get richer card and you should already be doing that. Could be replaced or cut down.

Weak Sentries. Caduceus is obsolete once Mimic drops and Errand Boy is annoying enough to earn a Parasite. No Program destruction to be found.

I've been looking at something like this too. I like what you're doing. Have you looked at RSVP as a splash? It's fairly cheap and taxing and becomes a must break on any remote with Gagarin.

I read about it but it didn't cross my mind when I made changes. It could be pretty interesting and possibly replace MHC. It plays into the ID and NAPD too well to ignore.

RSVP seems like too much influence. Rainbow might be comparable. I haven't tried it yet. In the end, we do want them to access and pay the 1c. We also want them to pay to break a 4 strength ice first. That's my view. It's not a lock-out "binary" ice deck. It's 9% Space Tax.

Along those lines, I think in this deck, Caduceus isn't dead post-Mimic. 2c can still be a semi-decent tax on R&D or a remote.

I'm trying 1x Marked Accounts now and I think with the higher trash cost you probably want that over MHC, to save influence for Pop-Up or Pup. Were you not liking the Marked?

I also think Draco is probably better than Ice Wall here, since it can be huge in a flash if you need it to, or else it can just be a small (hopefully 2c) tax. But Ice Wall is a nice wall.

@darwindeez Marked probably is better I was just trying to get more no-click economy involved. I think MA is the smarter use of influence in the end and it does open up influence for ICE...Pup or Pop-up, whichever is more annoying.

Agreed on Caduceus as well. It's a tax and it also lets you trace dump credits in a pinch.

I'll have to think about Draco. I see your point though. I'm going to get The Root involved too. How is DBS working for you?

DBS seems to be widely recognized as a high priority target by runners, even more so than The Root, which actually does more work for us. That said, DBS is just "easy mode" if they don't trash it. Trashing it on sight is correct, but it's absolutely worth trying to get one up and running. Often times I'm even rezzing DBS or Private Contracts for free with The Root at the end of the runner's turn. They will trash DBS but it will cost them and hopefully dissuade them from also going after The Root.
