PREBIRTH OMAR

“Most Omar decks would be better in Whizzard with Rebirth ..." Which is why i decided to play this out of Whizzard and Rebirth before the game begins.

THESIS:

By swapping out most tech, and tools, for money and draw, you can more fully leverage Omar’s ability to put the corp under an overwhelming amount of central pressure.

I’ve been working hard on this deck throughout the last couple of months. I played it in two Store Champs and was relatively pleased with it considering i’m a bit of an inexperienced pilot. An early version of the deck performed alright and brought me into the top cut of a smaller S.C. On another day, a more refined version went undefeated in swiss, (though three of the games were against C.I. which is a favorable match-up.)

Şifr - Parasite is extremely broken. That’s basically the central tenant of this deck. Not so original but if they print it I’ll play it. It’s rough on the corp as it is, but adding archives as another server that must be protected can just be too high an ask for a lot of decks.

The game plan is to build a board state that just blows through ice, by either destroying it, invalidating it, or simply pressing through it with a really beefy economy. Sifr-Yog can invalidate one code gate per turn. Sifr-Faust, can get you accesses for free - allowing your money to go even farther - Paperclip is so efficient it doen’t even need Sifr. Mk-Ultra isn’t the greatest but the ability to just discard it and start facechecking is it’s real strength... When you can blow problem sentries up with parasite it’s more than adequate.

Most of the card slots are allocated to either money or draw, pretty straightforward. I'll just mention a few choices apart from that.

Déjà Vu Good Recursion. Keeps the parasites spamming.

Hacktivist Meeting , Scrubber , and Salsette Slums These were painful ads, the original vision for the deck was to go pure techless and early on these slots were all filled by money or draw. Unfortunately the deck just didn't cut it against the heavier asset-spam archetypes. Eventually I realized if I want to Rebirth during deck construction, then I’m pretty much forced to use them.

Aaron Marrón Aaron is one of the mvp's in the deck, magnifying the tempo shift of the corp scoring an agenda. Aaron also allows me to exclude more dedicated tech like Plascrete. It's too bad I only have the influence for one of him after that Rebirth!

Bhagat This is my only real HQ pressure, because of that, Temujin Contract usually goes on HQ. If you establish remote-lock it’s pretty easy to snipe agendas from HQ and then later go into archives to collect the Bhagat Mills.

Black Orchestra This is meant as a backup and emergency breaker, and a second decoder to prevent gear-check if Yog.0 is on the bottom of my deck.

Medium A lot of decks are running 2x Medium. In this deck it's always been three. I’d run 5x if I could. It is so good in Omar. If I get one early enough I can usually get a couple counters on right away - then draw hard, leaning on the density of econ cards to stabilize into the mid-game. Most wins end with two of them installed. There’s a point where you can stop playing to ‘sustain pressure,’ and keep your engine going, and instead just install medium #2, and go broke on cards/credits for enough accesses to win.

This deck still needs work - it’s come a long way but it’s definitely not where I want it yet... but i figured I might as well put it out before the next MWL if the "leaked" MWL is correct then this deck is over.

Let me know if you see a weakness of have a suggestion!
