This is the deck that I played during the playoffs of our Belgian league (results from all SC, regionals, national in2017). During the finals I went 2-0 In a best of 3 against Clercqie's Moons-CI (lost with Brain-rewiring+ronin against Val). Props to Clercqie for some of the best games I've ever played.
This is a version that I've been testing on GNK's and Casual play, and it has a good match-up against meta decks like CTM and CI. I sleeved this deck out of reaction of a conversation I had with my friend Clusterfox, where he was telling me how hard it is to beat asset spam with Smoke. So I tried to build a Smoke deck that could beat asset spam (CTM and Gagarin) without having to include weird silver bullets.
Against Asset Spam:
Astrolabe is your best friend. Even though other consoles might look cool, the draw you get from this card can be insane.
Net mercur: Once you get this online with one breaker installed, you've made yourself a bad pub. Pretty good vs asset spam.
Employee strike: Turns of nasty ID's, essential to beat CTM.
Paricia: One card, ez tutorable with SMC that will help so much in a few common match-ups. Even against normal CI's the card is pulling it's weight.
Other choices
Sec Testing: Included it because I had spare inf, didn't cut when I needed inf later. It's good steady econ and with mercur it becomes powerfull.
No proco: Too slow in most matchups and against asset spam is useless. Adding a few deuces for the extra draw. Also deuces is just great!!!
Switchblade: Seems better than dagger, My rig often has 2 cloaks and I can farm with sec testing. Also pretty good against tour guide.
No Tapwrm: Trying to be aggressive, by putting pressure on the corp. Tapwrm isn't pulling it's weight in that case to justify it's inf. Also you can now have two cloaks in your rig (or 1 cloak 1 paricia).
No protection: You can add a Feedback filter if you expect PU, or a Citadel if you expect Brain rewiring.
Last reminder: You can also draw cards with mercur, don't forget to use that ability.

Hehe, such honor! It were great games, for sure! :-) Turns out Switchblade is pretty good against you if you're dependent on Tour Guides for taxing out the runner. Woops... Your economy choices are inspired. I think I agree on the ProCo and Tapwrm fronts. Sleeving this up :-) |
