A killer with a pump cost of 1 for +1 strength ! Woo !

There's not so much of this kind : Garrote, an expansive 2 program, and Faerie, cheap and powerful, but one-shot.

Then comes the breaking cost : 2 per subroutine.

As anyone who has ever give this a try (or Peacock or Aurora) can tell you, it's just a pain in the ass. Multi-sub sentries are quite common, and all in all, it's preferable to spent 2 for +1 strength and 1 per sub than the opposite (and then, this option is not much appreciated either).

Add the cost of 5 to install, and Creeper keeps crawling in your binder. Its only merits is to keep the "sentry problem" hard to solve, which is a nice challenge for Runners after all.

That is so very true. I tried it out one time and regretted it after breaking a two-sub-sentry the second time. e3 Feedback Implants are essential to this one. Noteworthy is also the slight synergy with Sage. —
I totally agree. I tried building a Sage deck with this as my killer and e3 as support card for both and after a few test plays I restructured the deck to get the influence for GS Shrike M2 instead of Creeper as it just wasn't bearable until the e3s were out. —
I can only see this as the backup no-influence breaker for Mimic in Shaper. Pipeline costs 6 cred to pump to 4, this costs 2, so unless you're facing Information Overload with more than 4 tags, this will be (a lot) cheaper to break un-mimic'able sentries than Pipeline. —
So, what's the point of the '...even if it's not installed' bit? —
