Noise Virus: My first try. Comment plz.

Kenulphus 1

I wanted a deck with opportunity to draw more cards and a good economy. I can't play ANR irl very often so I am going to try this deck on OCTGN. Question: what are the strong/weak points in this deck?

Honestly, if you're just using OCTGN - there's no reason not to play some variation on Noiseshop (Aesop's Pawnshop with lots of disposable small programs, such as Cache, Lamprey, etc.)

Triple Cyberfeeder, triple Cache, 2 Aesop's Pawnshop and you're rocking from there. If you don't want to do that to avoid being boring or something similar, here's some suggestions.

I'd recommend Datasucker for sure with this deck. With three fixed strength breakers, it's going to be rough fighting off against anything large.

I see what you're doing with the 'ICE is more expensive to rez' gig - and I like the idea to be honest. Another copy of Xanadu might help - just so you can find it a little easier!

Make sure to consider what you think you aren't doing well, and plug the gaps. With 9 influence left to spend, you've got space! Clone Chip would be a recommendation of mine personally, at least as something for recurring Parasites, Rooks and Imps. (Inter alia)

Unless you're in a mega trace heavy meta - Disrupter is considered one of the worst cards in the game. So let's be real - it's on the chopping block.

Consider Nerve Agent for even more Virus based central lockdown. Very amusing when you can access the entire hand. Will probably force a purge though, so watch out.

Run a second or third Grimoire - it's one of the key cards in a virus deck...well...pretty often at least. On that note, another Imp or two may help.

I dunno what else really. You only really have 8 cards that give money in the deck. Lucky Find may be good, or just 2-3 Armitage Codebustings. Depends on what you want to do. Alternatively, you can go with the old Pawnshop.

Lastly, with things the way they are, I'd highly recommend the addition of both Hades Shard and D4v1d - two really powerful cards for a Noise deck. (The latter being powerful in Anarch generally). The amount of threat those cards generate is insane.

Use this influence ! And if you're playing it on OCTGN, why not using more cards than with Opening Moves ?

The most reliable combo use of influence with Noise is a combinaison of Cache x 3 (3x1), Aesop x 3 (3x2), Clones Chips x 3 (3x2) and Deja Vu (3x0).

With Grimoire x 2 or x3, you're rich whereas the corp still trash R&D cards :)

What Softman and Syntax said. Although, i do like the deck as is. Yes Disruptor is an edge case, but then you get a game against keystone or custom biotics w/ tags and all of a sudden resetting traces can make a difference. The change i would make would be to plug the gap with your breaker suite, and that is your killers. Without datasucker your solo fixed strength killer (mimic) is going to leave you naked against ICE like either ichi or neural katana. Stacked neural katanas become a win condition for the corp like this.

I like that you're using actual icebreakers with Noise. Too many people just go the Crypsis/Darwin route these days and I think that's really limiting. When the Corp sees Crypsis on the table they know you're not going to run as often so you aren't really pressuring them.

The breaker suite I currently have in my Noise deck, one I have been winning with quite a bit lately, is 2 x Corroder, 2 x Cerberus "Cuj.0" H3, and 1 x ZU.13 Key Master, as well as 2 x D4v1d for the big guys. I'd also add a few more viruses to take better advantage of Noise's ability. If you're not actually interested in milling your opponent down, then you may wish to consider playing another Anarch identity.

Just remember to keep running. The majority of Noise decks these days just mill the Corp down with cheap viruses until they can Hades Shard Archives for the win (oh yeah, add Hades Shard!). It's a strategy that relies too much on luck and is honestly very boring. But when you show up with a Noise deck designed to consistently pressure servers while also tearing down R&D one virus at a time, then you're playing a good game of Netrunner.

@Softman25, @Syntax, @holding, @Addison Thx for all your comments. Lots to think about and consider. Changes will be made. And the first will be to take Datasucker in.

When I made this deck I only incorporated the datapacks I possess. On OCTGN it is much easier to implement your recommendations.

@Kenulphus You know what, i still only use the datapacks i own for Otcgn decks, that way i can really get to know how a deck works for when i play it IRL. So if you want to keep doing that, do so. Although putting together pure janky madness decks in Octgn IS insanely fun :)

@Kenulphus I was the same way. It can be fun to net-deck once and awhile, but you get a better understanding of the game if your own pace.
