Pre-rotation decklist |
Hey everyone. I took this deck to the Metro Detroit Great Lakes Circuit Qualifier tournament, which had a turnout of 25 people. The deck went 3-2 for the day, but honestly both losses are because of my misplays, not because of the deck. I beat Kate, Andy and Noise, losing to Andy and Kate.
This is a deck meant for use of The Greenhouse, neither of the other two should ever be considered. It is a rush deck that is meant to punish the currently slow meta, putting up pressure faster than the runner can get set up. I've started advancing agendas on turn two with it before. Caprice Nisei is very important to see in this deck as you will almost never be more than two ice deep on a server. Winning psi games makes the deck almost unstoppable, but I have still won games where I've lost almost every psi game just because of the early pressure it applies.
Some notes on the deck:
I wouldn't mess with the economy much in this deck as it's not unusual for the game to be ended on just a couple credits. If you want to free up influence for other things, you could try Celebrity Gift, but every click is precious as your goal is to put pressure on the runner.
Excalibur goes on the scoring server with Caprice Nisei, even better with a Nisei MK II counter. If you can set this remote up, try and chain Nisei MK II out of it using Fast Track to get them.
Unorthodox Predictions allows you to score an early Nisei MK II if you advance it one turn, score it the next and install and advance the Nisei MK II. However, if your meta is super heavy with recursion it could easily be Chronos Project.
Cortex Lock did not perform well today, and is up for consideration to be changed around for other ice. It is very cheap early game discouragement though which can help a lot.
Quicksand was a last minute replacement for Wall of Static, and I didn't notice any difference in the couple of games it showed up. Against an aggressive runner though, it could quickly get expensive to break through, so I consider it an upgrade overall.
This deck is very weak to Atman so if there is a lot of it in your area you will want to change up the ice suite.
Use of The Greenhouse - My most common use of the identity is putting four counters on a Future Perfect that I single advanced the turn before. However, it can be used to score a Nisei without spending money to help you put more pressure on the runner. I would never score anything other than those two agenda with it though unless it's a NAPD Contract for game point.
