I have the strong feeling that Industrial Genomics will become stronger with the SanSan Cycle, especially due to cards like Corporate Town. Increasing the trash cost of such a card could become really troublesome for the runner, and put a lot of strain on his economy.
There are, however, a few things that can make it interesting even at the moment.
Before trying an entirely new brew, I decided to go with just a few changes to my Code Dilemma deck.
Most notable one is Subliminal Messaging, which creates an interesting gimmick with this Identity: play them all, and when the runner fails to run, recover them from Archives. Then just discard them, to raise the trashing cost due to Genomic's ability. You can basically do this over and over again, since if the runner goes to check your Archives you can always take them back in HQ and repeat the process.
The other major change is Shock!, which should guarantee that the runner will think twice before going to check your Archives. And if he does, all the better, since he'll get some damage and with Subliminal you should always have some facedown cards anyway.
There aren't many Assets that will benefit from the increased trash cost, but it does matters a lot for the Upgrades: both Will-o'-the-Wisp and Caprice Nisei can hugely benefit from an increase in their trash cost. And it would be nice to have them reach Ash and be unable to trash it, because it doesn't cost just 3 credits, but rather 4... or 5... or 6...
I know Hostile Infrastructure could be an interesting addition too, but it's expensive and it's probably more suited for a deck where Net Damage can stack and pose a serious threat. Here it would just be an occasional hindrance, and nothing more.

Adding 1-2 Hudson 1.0 could be a good option for this deck. It could avoid you to pay the trace on Ash or keep your Caprice alive even if you loose the agenda. |
