Pre-rotation decklist |
My name is PowerBunz and I love Skorpios. I've built more Skorpios decks than any other ID and It's time to share my enthusiasm and joy for the murderous and oppressive. Not all these decks will be good, not all of them will have actually been sleeved up and played; they together tell a story of learning, improvement, and, most importantly, huge remove-from-game piles.
This deck is a series of bad ideas that add up to one slightly less bad idea. I love it.
Hear me out. O₂ Shortage is great in Skorpios. The rest of this deck may be terrible (it's even playing 3 Jackson Howard), but I stand by my bold claim. Let's examine some card choices:
Why Green Level Clearance? To give cards to meet alliance requirements for Jeeves Model Bioroids, and to give a bit more cash flow.
Why Jeeves Model Bioroids? To score all agendas out of hand in combination with O₂ Shortage, and because clicking for 4 credits is better than clicking for 3 credits.
That almost makes sense, but why also Pop-up Window? To give cards to meet alliance requirements for Salem's Hospitality, and also because Weyland loves ICE that gives money.
Why Salem's Hospitality with no other support, like Hatchet Job, Snoop, Kala Ghoda Real TV or anything else that can see the runner's grip or stack? Just guess what they're playing, you know the meta, just play better.
This deck relies entirely on the runner having good cards in their hand, and then not liking their odds to lose them when I randomly ping for 1 with O₂ Shortage. In other words, the deck is bad. I'm severely tempted to play Indian Union Stock Exchange to synergise with all the bad ideas in this deck, but somehow that feels like a step too far. I love this deck. It's the first deck I play against my friends whenever they say they have a new runner to test.
It also shows a basic shell I had adopted for a while with my Skorpios decks, when they weren't all trying to play O₂ Shortage or Salem's Hospitality as many times as possible in one game. The agenda suite is the same, the 11 giving fodder for Hunter Seeker, which I apparently felt necessary to cut for this deck. The barriers and sentries are common across many decks from around this time, I never really subscribed to the Uncorrodable model of playing only small barriers and destroyers. I'm disappointed in myself for playing so many Jacksons, but hey, I can't win them all.
This is a wonderful time capsule because it almost works, despite all its obviously terrible ideas. Come to think of it, that sounds like all my decks.

My modern version of this list managed to fit in the Indian Union Stock Exchange, but cuts the Salem's Hospitality for a Midseason Replacements murder package. It's a shame that most wins it gets are thanks to murder rather than FA, but not exactly unexpected. |

Audacity is another FA option that might suit this deck. Substitute the GLCs/Pop-Ups/Jeeves for 3 Hatchet Jobs and use Audacity to FA stuff out? |
Yesss Skorpios was the first ID I thought of when I saw O₂ Shortage. I will have to try this deck out!
