help a noob

apolz 15

So with all the new rules and my limited collection i made this deck. I have 2 core set, first cycle, creation and control, honor and profit, data and destiny, terminal directive, runner world champ deck, free mars and escalation.

I would love if any one would comment on it, what cards would u chance and for what?

Looks pretty solid. Personally I think I would make these changes:

Run Medical Breakthrough over Nisei MK II, because I think you will have more use of the second and third agenda's relative ease to score than the nisei counter.

Run Beanstalk Royalties over Green Level Clearance, because I often find myself needing money more than cards in jinteki.

Replace weir and some number of neural katanas with Pup, because you want to have very cheap and obnoxious ice asides ice wall.

Find room for the third Neural EMP and/or Hokusai Grid.

Now that Account Siphon is out, you could consider running Mushin No Shin and more Project Junebug and a Ronin or two. They will need to play the guessing game for real now.

ok thx alot, in order to make room for the mushin pack what would u cut? psychic field, snare, ice or money cards?

I looked back at my personal evolution decklists that I used to run, and it varies. I think I would go with 3x ronin, 3x junebug, 3x mushin no shin, 2x cerebral overwriter. I would cut down on ice and probably some number of psychic fields/snare!. The psychic fields are more at home in decks where you have very potent assets or are going down the 2/3 agenda route.

Running the ambush assets and ronins do mean that you need to cut a lot of your deck to make this work. Mental health clinic has anti-synergy with the plan to ronin out your opponent. Pad cannot stay either, because we also need to shave the ICE for slots. Those would need to become fundraisers. It would look like this:

Jinteki: Personal Evolution

Agenda (10) 3x Global Food Initiative ●●● 3x House of Knives 3x Medical Breakthrough 1x Philotic Entanglement

Asset (12) 2x Cerebral Overwriter ●●●● 1x Chairman Hiro 3x Project Junebug 3x Ronin 3x Snare!

Operation (16) 1x Archived Memories ●● 3x Hedge Fund 3x IPO 3x Medical Research Fundraiser 3x Mushin No Shin 3x Neural EMP

Barrier (4) 2x Data Loop ●●●● 2x Ice Wall ●●

Code Gate (3) 2x DNA Tracker 1x Enigma

Sentry (4) 3x Komainu 1x Neural Katana

15 influence spent (max 15, available 0) 20 agenda points (between 20 and 21) 49 cards (min 45) Cards up to Revised Core Set

The plan with a deck like this is that you need to play somewhat randomly and get agendas to fully advanced and NOT score them. To your opponent, they might as well just be 3-advanced junebug. When your opponent is down on cards due to data loop, snare, house of knives or chairman hiro, you get to kill them by popping one-two agendas on your turn without spending clicks and popping ronin/neural EMP. I am not sure whether the agenda suite will lend itself to this very well, but that's to be tested.

A fun variant that I had of this deck would run lots of one-pointers and score philotic entanglement with trick of light to do some amount of damage. The kill would come from 24/7 news cycle re-triggering the philotic.

That is something you will need to test. More than money and ice, I think getting some source of draw might be useful, though again, it bears testing.

I do think you don't need that much ice, because this deck only ices the centrals. Speaking of economy, I used to run 3x pop-up in a deck like this so that I have a source of income every time they go to R&D or HQ. The other thing I did money-wise was play Profiteering, but that card is no longer with us. I also played Gila Hands Arcology. You could run this, but that means that you need to change the agenda suite and shave off some more ice and assets.

In a deck that does not run a lot of ice, I ran Cortex Lock as my only sentry because it is cheap and requires the runner to at least install their programs. Chimera was also in my deck as some protection against siphon/R&D digging. You can do without those, but it is useful to look at ice this was.
