Bioroid Click Waster 1.0 - Advice please

Caspian89 8

Looking for any and all suggestions on this one. There's something about the Bioroids I love, I'm keen to try and make a Stronger Together deck work reasonably well. I hope that Markus 1.0 has put the threshold of cheap bioroid ice over the top.

The idea here is to use Minelayer and Architect to quickly build up tall towers of Bioroid Ice. They are naturally expensive to break, more so with Stronger Together. Yes they can be clicked through but I think having tall towers of ICE will mitigate that - there's only so many clicks per turn for the runner. Clicking through is further discouraged with Heinlein Grid. Enhanced Login Protocol further slows things down.

Caprice Nisea and Ash help to turn any successful runs into time wasters. I like Hudson here as even if they get through they are left with a choice to take an agenda or trash Caprice/Ash/Heinlein Grid who will continue to cause headaches. In this vein is Shell Corporation better than Melange for Hudson purposes? Architect can help keep the pain alive by bringing back annoying Upgrades.

Economy is event based with lots of draw to keep clicks efficient and keep cards in hand for Minelayer. Melange is there as a longer-term, big-time cash generator. Stuck behind a wall of ICE and an annoying Upgrade it will hopefully yield several turns of 7 credits.

Agendas are fairly straight forward. NAPD works well with Heinlein Grid and Caprice/Ash. Project Wotan, if scored provides a snowball effect through the 1st one is vulnerable. Eden Fragment supports the ICE towers. Utopia Fragment is a lottery version of NAPD.

What do you see as this decks core weaknesses? What am I missing? If you give a card suggestion please suggest what to take out in response.

Sideline Ideas: Is Lag-Time better than Enhanced Login Protocol here? Shell Corporation over Melange? Corporate Troubleshooter? Jinteki ICE like Chum, Sensei, Marker, Inazuma?

Mmmmh... Have you tried to play against a shaper with Atman? An Atman at 4/5 with a few sucker tokens seems to eat you alive (with a mimic on the side to take care of Architect).

Apart from that, there's not much to say without testing. Heinlein Grid works best with False Lead, but I can see why you would like it in Stronger Together. You may want to replace the 2 of them with 2 more Ash 2X3ZB9CY, or with 2x Interns in order to get your Nisei/Melange/Ash back.

Hudson 1.0 seems frustratingly fun with Ash/Caprice on a remote. Have you tried it yet? Or do you actually put Hudson on a central to avoid Medium / Legwork runs?

I realise that some people want to get away from the trap of adding 3 Hedge fund/sure gamble and THEN start building their deck. But the value of hedge fund here really cannot be overstated.

I've ran Stronger together a fair bit in glacier form with big ICE and the only cards that are really actually stopping successful runs are the Victors, the barriers and Caprice: I don't think you'll see Successful Demonstration go off as often as you like.

I'm not the first choice for advice, but I'd think about ditching the blue level clearances for a second Ash and at least a couple hedge funds for early-game ICE rezzing aggression.

Also give Zed 1.0 a look if you're going for wasting runner clicks. He can be tricky to set up and gets thumped in the face by Mimic (albeit it's a straight credit trade-off)

(also Mimic will roll Architect over. Despite being a piece of ICE in the HB faction, Architect does NOT have the Bioroid sub-type, so doesn't benefit from Stronger together).

I'll come back and write a more detailed reply in a while, but in short: The deck concept can work, and myself and Four_Leaf have done some work on refining it. Feel free to check.

Three Caprice Nisei is probably too many. Three Minelayer is also probably too many. Three Viktor 2.0 might be too many, but your economy looks better equipped to handle it than mine.

ELP over Lag Time: the jury's out. They're both great. Lag is better if you're facing Atman a lot, ELP works well with the core concept of the deck; wasting clicks.

Shell Corporation is pants. Too difficult to protect. Melange Mining Corp. you can at least get away with using just the once. I actually quite like Private Contracts.

Corporate Troubleshooter looks good on paper, but it just commits them to clicking through. Nice for catching them with an Ichi 1.0 from time to time, but situational

Inazuma is absolutely fantastic. Also, once O&C drops, consider Wormhole. Slightly slower, but it's super-solid, and incredible with the powerful bioroid subroutines

Thank-you! Wow, what a lot of great comments and so fast. Great community, thank-you again. I'm going to think about where to go with all these thoughts and post a revised version.
