Do Net Damage - Need Feedback

ExhaustedDog 21

Getting back into the game after a very long break.

I'll always have a spot for Jinteki PE and wanted to make a net damage list with the fast advance kit. This is my first crack at it. I like the essence of this deck for my personal playstyle, and am very much hoping to get some input on how to tighten up this list. I'm wondering econ-wise how I could shift things around.

Am I relying too much on card interaction for an econ engine? Should I make room for Rashida/ NGO instead?

Welcome back! First of all, yeah, I think there's nothing wrong with trying to find space for NGO and Rashida. I don't see Isobel as being too useful in this deck, so I think she might be a card to cut. I'm also not sure if Gene Splicer is going to be more useful than say, Urtica Cipher. Also, Corp decks usually run 49 cards, since this is the most you can run without needing to include more agendas. This is to reduce the density of agendas in your deck, and you'd be surprised how much better a deck feels after adding those 4 cards. So you could as-is just add 3 Rashidas, and maybe drop the Isobel's for NGO Front.

To me, this deck looks like you're sort of halfway between two gameplans: scoring behind ice and playing a shell game (just installing stuff and advancing and the runner is too scared to run). If you want to lean more into the shell game, maybe add Urtica Ciphers and Snares, and maybe even Kakurenbo. If you want to make more use out of Manegarm and Anoetic, I think you need to add some more ice, maybe dropping Prana Condenser and/or Trick of Light in the process. Some great ice to include would be Anansi, and maybe Enigma, or you can swap some influence around and import ice like Border Control or IP Block.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the reply.

Funny, I originally slotted Anansi, Enigma, and IP Block. Border Control was on the "it should probably be there too," list. I completely forgot about running 49 cards (this is how long it has been. I like Urtica Cipher over Gene Splicer, and is still a good target for Trick of Light.

I see your point about Isobel; I think to really make it work it would be better in a Weyland list for more consistent econ, but I got excited about its potential interaction with Otoroshi.

I might keep Gene Splicer just because I like the card so damn much because of its flexibility with Trick of Light or as a mid-late game wincon, but not knowing Urtica existed until you pointed it out...well...it makes complete sense.

Dropping Prana also makes sense...I didn't read the fine print and realize it utilized power and not advancement counters.

My goal was to lean more into a shell game but also have a fast advance option with some good card interaction for a mid-late game econ/"should I run that remote?" board development. I do think there's space for both, but certainly with more of an emphasis on one over the other.

Thank you for the suggestions. Time to go tinker with it.

Looks solid with those updates. The only thing I'd add is that Engram Flush currently has one of the best rez to break cost ratios in the game and works nicely alongside PE, so I'd look at slotting a couple of those if you can. Maybe drop an Enigma and Otoroshi?

Also FWIW, getting a flatline off of Otoroshi is going to be pretty tricky. The runner would need to faceplant it with no way to break it and less than 3 while you have an Urtica Cipher on the board and they don't have enough cards to weather the damage or any way to mitigate it. That said, I have died to it in hilarious fashion at a tournament, so maybe it's worth keeping it for the lulz on the off chance it does ever happen :P
