girls still wins (Queen of Swiss, August 24th AMT)

wow so uh my previous girls list was incredibly well received. Thank you to everyone for their kind comments and excitement about the list!

This list went 2-1 in Swiss, beating a Jinja Architects of Tomorrow and an Outfit, and losing to Disk Elemental's extremely cool Epiphany list. This took me to 1st place in Swiss along with my undefeated Ob deck, thus throwing me into my first ever top cut. I then chose to run vs Disk Elemental again (the opposite matchup looked worse at the time) and lost again after playing a little too fast and loose with my economy, dropping me in 3rd place. It's a matchup I'm going to have to practice, and Disk Elemental played it really well!

I'm going to keep this writeup short and let my Ob deck talk about how the day went. Here's the list of changes compared to the previous version:

• -1 “Pretty” Mary da Silva, +1 Nyashia. We were considering this change before Nottingham Regionals, and uh yeah it's amazing. Played one game with it and never looked back - Nyashia does a pretty compelling impression of Pretty in the early game, and then both of them can be used in tandem for a 5-deep R&D dig. (Trick Shot + Pretty + Nyashia + Akiko)
• -3 Environmental Testing +2 Sure Gamble. A consistent 4c is better at saving us in the worst games than a conditional 6c from Environmental Testing. To make this change work, we locked in Fermenter as the last two influence - this can save us in the longer games where the extra 2c from each Environmental Testing would have made the difference. Given that part of my struggle in the Epiphany games was having real money, there's definitely a world where we run 3x Sure Gamble. Unfortunately, slots continue to be hard and I continue to be impressed by those who get girls down to 45 cards. :P
• +1 Ika. People keep running sentries. I presume it's mainly to deal with the increase in Revolver's popularity, but a more delusional deckbuilder would say it's a massive meta shift caused solely by girls and nothing else. Given the Architects of Tomorrow game, I am very glad that I did this. In matchups where you only really need 1x Ika, this becomes a nice enough Spec Work target that it's not completely dead.
• -1 Unity +1 Euler. Euler is real good on its on-turn, which is sometimes what you need to land a Trick Shot. Any code gates which would be particularly helped by Unity can be fed to Physarum Entangler instead.

I think this version of girls is better than the previous one, or is at least a better pick right now - if I had to play another event tomorrow, it'd be this one.
